With our congress in Washington only representing those who will/can bribe them, it will take a Messiah rather than a mortal to lead them toward anything other than money. So it looks like we will again have a devil or witch choice.

Is this not the recipe the anti-Christ uses to assume control?

This is true. It will not change until the incentives to politicians are removed. I do have the feeling we are getting closer and closer to a solution.

Obama's speech portrayed the republican congress as defenders and enablers of the super rich who have brought our great nation to the verge of economic ruin. Gingrich is using Romney's tax returns to prove that point. When upholsterers ,cloth cutters and construction workers pay a higher tax rate than billionaires, one can reasonably conclude that the tax code is slanted to favor the ultra rich. When republicans want to raise taxes on working people and cut taxes for the rich (who already pay a lower rate), one can obviously conclude that republicans do not represent middle America.

Your congress, bought and paid for by Monsanto, will make it illegal for you to keep seeds for planting in your own garden for your own food. The penalty will be the same as raising marijuana.

I did not realize they have passed this onus law. Why, pray tell, did Obama sign such a gross theft of our rights?

ACTA is part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal that he was working on this last year.

Free Trade deals only benefits corporations, who in turn benefit politicians to push their agenda for more slave labor around the World. They also get to dump the waste and pollutants in the air and water in some place of the World that nobody cares/knows about

Google "ACTA in India"

Coming to the US in March. I'm excited to hear how it will be for jobs, environment, "the children", et al........

He hasn't signed it yet but probably will.. The republican congress is presenting this for passage just like the republicans presented the law cancelling your right to a fair trial. Kind of like republicans passing NAFTA under Bush 1 and then getting
Clinton to sign it. This way, the congressional perpetrators shift the blame onto one person and escape accountability to the largely ignorant and uninformed public. The public then votes out that one person (president) out and the perps stay in office to bring more destructive special interest legislation against the middle class, small business and the poor. This is how free enterprise, the Constitution and our economy have been destroyed.

The United States, Australia, Canada, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Morocco, and Singapore signed the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) at a ceremony on October 1, 2011, in Tokyo.

Already signed it

March is when the Senate will ratify it

I guess after it is ratified, then Obama will either: sign it, veto it or not sign it. If he signs it, it would become law. If he doesnt sign it, it either dies or congress passes it anyway. If it is vetoed, then it either dies or congress overides the veto.
Then it would become law. Kind of like Bush 1 , Mexican Pres Salinas and Canadian PM Mulroney signing NAFTA in Dec 1992 and then the house passing it with 132 republicans and 102 dems, then the senate passed it with 61 republicans and 38 dems . Then in Dec 93 Clinton was president and he signed it. Then when it killed jobs, just like Perot said it would, its republican creators blamed it all on Clinton. The ignorant and uninformed then and even now still believe that it was Clinton's idea . So the perpetrators of this outrage on middle America got off without sharing the blame. With democracy depending on informed voters, democracy failed and the ignorant voters put the same SOB s back in congress. Now voters lament about no jobs, crushing debt and destruction of the constitution, not realizing that their own ignorance and stupidity has played a large part in creation of the mess we now have.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
