Motorcyle wreck on 321 in Granite

My mom is worried my brother is not answering he is black that's why we ask if they were black or white.. Please if anyone knows please tell us

So wonder what they did to be chased for so far

He came by me at an extreme rate of speed at the point that it goes into one lane right after you get though Lenoir, near the lowes Hardware. I was in the left lane and had to get over for the construction and just happened to see a blur in my passenger side mirror and jerked back over. He blew by all of the cars that were going slow in the construction zone. We were really hoping he would just dart down some country road and hide or something because we knew if he stayed on 321, it was going to be bad. We came upon the accident about 15 mins later and they were routing us though the parking lot there on the right. Did see some cops but they were not actively following...more of a passive stance.
Just have so many questions about why someone would be going that fast and so many thoughts about how senseless of an accident it was.

My thoughts and prayers fot their family's. If you don't mind my asking where in Granite on 321 did this happen?

Something a 4yr old doesn't need to know about. Good call on that. Unfortunately we had a whole conversation in the car after they passed us outside of blowing rock about how dangerous that was and that they should pull over. WOW how tragic to have witnessed or been on the road when this accident occurred...this just proves that we should just pull over and face our consequences noone should have to die because we dont want to get into trouble...no matter what his/her consequences were...death trumps all consequences..let this be a lesson taken!!

Actually it would have been avoided if the motor cycle would have just stopped....

they said the guy riding the bike was 36 and the girl on the back was 23 and they were running because they had drugs and they are badly dismemberd

It sure cannot be blamed on the police. they are there to protect everybody. The motorcycle should have stopped.

I agree completely. It is the duty of police to enforce the law and protect the public. I'm saddened that these 2 lost their lives but the driver made the decisions that led to the result, its no fault of the police. How many other people's safety were put in jepordy by the driving the motorcyclist was doing. Again my heart goes out to the deceased folks families but fault can't be put on anyone but the driver.

This is a tragedy and I'm sorry but it's not entirely the motorcylist's fault. How many people were put in jeopardy over a SPEEDING violation. SERIOUSLY!! There should be much higher standards and more consequences for these types of situations. Speeding tickets get mailed from traffic cams not freaking high speed pursuits through multiple counties and are certianly not worth the lives of every single motorist on the road. People who were passed should be outraged that their families were placed in danger over something that wasn't life or death.

The girl has a small son. Her last facebook post said jacuzzi suite Boone, NC. God bless her and her son.

Where are the traffic cams in Blowing Rock and Lenoir?? The rider should have stopped. He chose his and the passenger's destiny by his little lonesome....

We came onto 321 South at the 64/18 intersection. At the time the motorcycle passed us at high speed, then weaved in between cars and down the center of 2 lanes, there was no one chasing it. A few miles later we stopped for a red light and 3 Sheriff's cars were stopped beside us with lights off. A few seconds after passing thru the intersection after the green light they all turned on their lights and sirens and sped off. The accident must have happened by that time. Further down the road an ambulance with lights and sirens merged onto 321 in front of us and we soon came upon the accident at Glenn Ridge Drive (12 miles from 64/18). It was very sad scene just as previously described that left us shaken. Thoughts are with the families and witnesses and emergency services.
The motorcycle rider was already fatally reckless without anyone chasing them way before the accident occurred. They may have been chased then. After it was mentioned in this thread I recall being stopped beside a white Intrepid but didn't see that it was an unmarked car or that it was giving chase.
