They do not have enough lawsuits filed against them . Carry a phone or video recorder (available at CVS for $25 smaller than a pack of cigarettes). When this happens, you have evidence. When the city or county bond costs go up, they will address this problem.

You think they're hard on you... try actually being in real trouble, and see how you get treated. They don't even need a warrant to turn my house upside down whenever they feel like it. Ain't nothing like watching the friggen gestapos go through your personal belongings! I also have to do the stupid human tricks on a regular basis.

Reminds me of a situation I found myself in once. I circled a road and came back around to a friend's house once and the cops saw me do it. They pulled me, asked me to step out of my car, empty my purse and to search my vehicle. I told them to go for it. Well I had the flu really bad, and had paper towels in my car to blow my nose on..I am a little bit OCD I guess, but I fold paper towels, and tissues after I use them.(I bet somebody sees where this is going) So while I am standing outside putting my things in my purse, the officer searching my car says "Think I found something, there are a lot of folded paper towels in here! I'm going to unfold them and see if I smell anything...." I am sorry, but I kept my mouth shut. I have a feeling a week later when he got the crud from sniffin my snot rags, he had no clue of what made him sick. True story.

All that will happen IF they show up is they will write down what happened and say "if you hear anything, let us know". Don't bother calling these heros. Just write it down yourself. He was on here last year crying about his daddy plugging him in the ass while he was growing up and now he thinks he's a tuff guy. The average West Virginian or Tennessee fudpucker would use him for a jack rag just like they do their ugly sister's.

Sir, I am truly sorry for the trouble you and your wife had. I can not speak for Burke County or any other county as far as that goes. I will ask that you please step back and take a look at their job. When they pull a car over they have no idea what they will encounter. I'm taking from what you said that you are a law abiding person. Not everyone is and those ppl are out there driving on the highways too. They may be hauling illegal drugs, guns, ammo etc. When an officer makes a traffic stop they haven't received a lot of information before they approach that vehicle. They all know at the end of their shift even though they are planning to go home to their families they may not make it. Sir my father was a good law enforcement officer. He had many yrs in serving his county. I never heard any negative about him from the Dept or from any of the ppl that he arrest. I'm sure he made ppl mad but he gave everyone respect even when he was having to deal with situations that I'm sure you would not of wanted to be a part of. It's not an easy job and the pay is not the best in the world. He had a passion for wanting to help others. And just so you know, an officer can't just walk into your home and start tearing it apart unless you are on some kind of probation and the judge has ordered it. Or their is some kind of probable cause for that officer to be there, regardless of what has been said. My father entered a building that was on fire to save Ppl that the most would have said let them burn. He treated ppl with respect and still did his job. And on fairness to the Men and Women that go out on a daily basis to serve and protect, hats off, awesome job! To the officers who are under handed and disrespectful, shame on you for making a good group of ppl look bad. Truly sir I'm so sorry that happened to you. Their not all bad and it's the job that hardens them. Most burn out before they ever reach their 12 yrs . Like I said, my father served and he did honor and protect and then one day he never came home again. It's a cruel world and he honestly was just trying to make it a better place than what it is. Not every vehicle that is stopped has a good guy in it. That's why they leave a fingerprint somewhere on your vehicle as they approach. Every vehicle they stop may be their last, every domestic call may be their last. Basically Sir every call they go on may be their last and they all know that, but they get up and come to work anyway. They kiss their wife or Husband and their kids bye and know in their hearts that they may not make it back to see them again, but they go get in the vehicle and drive into work to protect and serve their community. May God Bless You and Yours. May you have a Very Merry Christmas.

My son recently had an experience with local law enforcement that left me scratching my head. He had locked his keys in his car at work, and called one of our local PDs to help him out. They came right out, unlocked the car, then claimed to have "caught a whiff" of something. They asked his permission to search the vehicle, which he gave, and the officers (three of them by now) searched for an hour and, of course, found nothing. I guess my questions are 1) did they really think he would call the police to help him if he had anything illegal? 2) don't these officers have anything better to do? I suppose he was lucky they didn't plant something in the car or give him a beatdown. I have instructed him that if this ever happens again, make the knuckleheads get a warrant, and say absolutely nothing. Let them waste their time and resources. I certainly hope no one was being robbed or assaulted or worse while they were hassling him. One thing's for sure, they taught him a valuable lesson: never ask a police officer for help. Protect and serve, hah!
