Hissy Fitz

Just wondering if anyone else has been in the Hissy Fitz consignment store located in Hudson, beside of Mom's Kitchen? I was in there this past weekend, they had a lot of items. But, most of I thought were over priced and a lot had holes or stains on them. The staff there seemed to be really nice to the young girls and their mom's and rude to the older ladies in there. I can understand maybe the older ladies or moms, might know name brands as much or might not know exactly what brands are in with the teens. That is still not a reason to be rude and blow them off. I watched one mom bring in a tote of clothes, only to be laughed at while the mom was shopping for more clothes for her kids. Guess the staff didn't think anyone was watching them as they critique the itmes brought in by this mom. The staff checkers, a young girl and a lady in her thirties shaking their heads and carrying on about the clothes. I just wanted to share this and see if anyone else has had an experience like this one?

No, I have not been there, didn't even know it was there. It is sad indeed when employees act the way you said but sadly, people act that way, or so it seems, everywhere someone shops.

That's my wife's favorite store. She's not judgemental like that though on other people's clothing choices.

Edit: though if you smoke around her, or have more than 2 beers in one night, you'll hear about it for a week.

I love the store. I frequent a lot of consignment shops and found the prices and goods to be comparable. I did not see stains or holes. I was treated with courtesy and respect. They've opened up a new section and seem to be growing rapidly. Everything I have heard has been very positive ... except for this forum which seems to focus on the negative.

You need to make sure it is not a fake, they do sell alot of knock offs.

i love the store, i have found many great bargains there,and no body has ever been rude or laughing at any one when i have taken my daughter there.they even let her into the back to look thru clothes that had not been put out yet. she loves it. she can come out with a shirt jacket and jeans for 22.00 great store

Finally had the chance to go to this store. It's a pretty store with I think high prices for used stuff. And yes, I did find items with stains and holes in them, too. I did look around at all the items, yes there are some stuff priced cheap, but mostly high end prices. That might work for some people's budget. If you have the money and time to search through all thats in there, I am sure you can find a deal.

Okay, the whole premise of the store is that they have name brand clothes. You will obviously pay more for name brand, even if it is used. They have a huge selection of name brand clothes and they are definitely at a fraction of the price, just like Hissy Fitz advertises. Everything is organized and the staff is very helpful.
I'm sure it must be overwhelming for the owner to have customers bring her out of style and other types of clothes that do not fit in with the main mission of the store. Maybe she'd have more time to help the customers if she didn't have to sort through the junk some people take there. There are some clothes that do not belong in that store seeing as how it is a teen consignment store, not a clothing supply (like Goodwill) for the less-fortunate.
I think the store is a great idea and I hope it continues to do well. If you haven't been you need to go because their selection is great and the people that work there are super nice.

first of all,
i work at HISSY FITZ quiet frequently, also i am good friends with the owner. yes she will judge your clothes because if you have noticed she has A LOT of items therefore she has to be very picky.Also YES some items ARE KNOCK OFFS! BUUUUT they are ALL sold at knock off price. I also agree with some posts some items are priced over 5 dollars but its hollister and abercrombie people you cant find that stuff cheap ANY WHERE! Another thing I have NEVER seen any of the employees be rude to any age of customer.

I Love Hissy Fitz!!!!! For years I have paid ALOT of money for my two daughters clothes and now I finally have a place that not only can we shop for Great Name Brand clothes a Great prices but We can also Consign thier clothes that we have bought new and paid Crazy prices for worn and out grown, gotten tired of or whatever and can make back some money to buy more with!!! Who could ask for a better deal!!! You cant make this kind of money at a yard sale that is for sure!!! And another thing the store looks awesome and is a fun place to shop my teen daughters love it as much as they love going to the mall we stop there on our way to Hickory everytime!!!!!!

I just want to say that i think it is stupid to pay so much for used clothes just because of the brand. Once they go out of season the stores will practically give it away. SO used is used. if i want to pay store prices i will go to a store and get something new.

I have shopped there a few times with my teenage daughters. Its a nice place with nice clothes. I do believe the clothes could be priced a little lower. However my daughters feel a bit uncomforterable going in there when the owners daughter and friends are there. These girls may act all nice to others around the parents but in reality they all act better than others especially at school. The owners daughter who attends school with my daughters is always looking at others with a stare and disgusted look on her face. I believe the business can be better if the owner will keep these girls away so the other teen shoppers will feel comforterable in the store.

ahh.. yes the owners daughter "stares" she's done that since she was little, it has nothing to do with being better than anybody its a habit she has! If you started your very own store would you keep your daughter and her friends out? friends who i might add shop there A LOT! and if you think you can find these clothes that cheap in the store your wrong, it dont happen.

and not one of the girls think they better than anybody, go to school one day and see for yourself. they are all friends with everyone and are nice to everyone, the only people who "think" that are people who dont give them a chance.

AND not everything in the store is used some is ordered and shipped to the store

My daughter is actually good friends with Emily. This is how I know the way she acts. She doesnt act this way toward my daughter but toward others. She doesnt act that way when her mom or other adults are around

First of all, I would like to THANK the wonderful new friends we've made since HIssy Fitz opened 3 months ago. I truly appreciate the support of the community. The concept of Hissy Fitz Teen Consignment is to provide name brand clothing at a fraction of mall prices. During this struggling economy, everyone can appreciate a bargain. Employees of Hisy Fitz were hired SOLEY on their attitude and willingness to welcome EVERY customer with a smile. I realize EVERY business has an opportunity for improvement and we welcome any suggestions from our customers to make their experience at Hissy Fitz a better one. BUT - the one request I will NOT give into is "to place ANYTHING in life before my children, family or friends". I have to wonder what type of mother would even make such a request? I've always felt we should focus more on the family we were blessed with INSTEAD of critizing others. Thank you to my friends for bringing this website to my attention. This is the first and LAST time I will offer my opinion on this type of website. I would rather focus my time on my family, friends and customers in our store. THANKS TO ALL THAT SUPPORT HISSY FITZ
