Google in Lenoir

I would like to know which real estate company and what realtor is handling the Google deal in Lenoir if anyone has that information?

1st of all its the EDC whos purchasing the property through differant real estate offices who are not making any money from the purchase of the property.2nd its not Google as people have said.Only 4 people in this county know for a fact who it is and they would not say Yes,No or maybe.They signed a contract and if they said who it was the company would not come to the county and bring over 300 jobs and a revenue of over $1. BILLION dollars.So be patient and wait like the rest of us have to.So what ever you have heard is either BS or the Democrappers are stirring up CRAP again,personally I hope we get the revenue and the jobs.

I want the revenue and the jobs too but everyone needs to be honest and up front also. If you'll remember there were problems when Dell came to North Carolina. Just trying to keep everyone honest.

What makes you think that the Democrats are the ones stirring up crap? The Republicans do a great job of it without any help from anyone.

Excuse me...but everyone I've talked to personally that have sold their property were approached by David Barlow and/or Tim Sanders. There are more than 4 people who know who it is. The News Topic also stated that their is an investment backer. Who chose who the investment backer is? Are you saying that members of the EDC don't know who it is. I too hope we get the revenue and the jobs. Where do you get off that Democrats are stirring up Crap again? You said be patient like the rest of us have. You have posted certain statements (1 & 2) as fact so actually you haven't been as patient as you say, have you? Now the real estate offices might not be making any money off of handling the purchase of the property but they will be making money off of finding those displaced a place to live. How do YOU know for a fact it isn't google? Are you one of the four? Get off your high horse re Democrats. We all pay taxes and we all have a right to our opinions. The EDC is funded by the commissioners and our tax monies are dispersed by the commissioners. It seems you talk out of both sides of your mouth and are obviously a Republican!

Answer: I see you didn't bother to reply to my post. The Charlotte Observer article re Google coming to Caldwell Co. stated that their source was "three government officials". Now answer another question for me,(since you seem to have all the answers) why aren't most of the properties that the EDC has bought been registered? Again, I say that this should be public record. How can this be withheld from the public legally? Also, who chose the real estate offices that are handling the purchases for the EDC? Since we know that Barlow and Triplett is one of the real estate offices, who are the others. How were the ones, including Barlow and Triplett chosen? Were they chosen because Barlow is Mayor and one of his employees is a county commissioner? Again...how do YOU know it is not google when as you say..."only 4 people know who it is". What gives you the right to know its not google and the public not the same right? If "only 4 people know who it is", then there is no way that you would know who it isn't unless one of them told you. The whole story will be very interesting to the public. I am all for jobs and revenue coming to Caldwell County and I pray that happens. What I don't like are the things that should be public record being withheld and people like you that seem to think that you (a Republicapper) can come on this forum and state things as fact that if you know, then the public is entitled to know. You have just opened a whole new "can of worms" and I think you might be related to some of them!

I am pretty sure that the Mayor and Mr. Sanders are not making anymoney of these transactions, b/c that is ILLEGAL but dont let that stop you from spreading vicious rumors for political gain.

Ok..tell me where I have spread vicious rumors. I have only asked questions like who the realtors are that are handling this and why the property that has been bought hasn't been registered and why Answer knows so much. How can anything I said be for political gain when my posts included Democrat and Republican. I did not say that the Mayor and Mr. Sanders are making any money off these transactions. It is possible that the realtors handling this will make money by selling to those relocating.That was why I wanted to know who picked the realtors and who they are. There should be nothing wrong in the public knowing that. Answer said it was not google. My question was how did he know that as fact. It doesn't matter to me who comes as long as we get jobs and revenue. I was questioning Answer's post...and his "facts" not starting vicious rumors.What makes you think there is anything on this forum that would prevent anyone from coming here? Nobody picked any realtors, the only connection to realtors is the fact that Barlow and Sanders work for them.....they had them offer the options and get the agreements b/c its what they do for a living, and they understand how to handle it.....Trust me on this....Answer doesnt know what he is talking about.

Who do Barlowe and Sanders work for? If it were me I would remove my self from the situation so that a conflict of interest or the appearance of one would not arise.

I agree. Looks strange to me.

David Barlow owns Barlow and Triplett Real Estate and Tim Sanders works for him. The appearance of or actually a conflict of interest is a concern expecially since one is Mayor and the other a County Commissioner. There are other capable realtors who could have handled it that do not hold public office.

It may look bad, but as i said, any profit from any transaction or residual transaction would be Illegal, thats written in black and white.
Quit trying to find the negative in a positive for Caldwell Co. you as a tax payer will benefit from this "proposed" project.

As far as why they were picked......Simple, as elected officals they signed confidentiality agreements and are bound legally not to disclose any information about the project. The fact that they are realtors was just a bouns for the EDC to use them to negotiate the options for the property.

Just to keep any misunderstanding from happening, they could have had another real estate office handle it...then there would have been no questions. Please don't get me wrong....I am so pleased that we might get a new industry. We can use all the help we can get. Are you saying that if one of the displaced sellers, could not use Barlow and Triplett as their realtor to buy a house? I dont want to get into the details of what i know....but the "3 govt officials" could have been State officials and not Local.

And again, I would think that the reason that an outside Real Estate company was not used was for matters of confidentiality.....you dont need too many people knowing what is going on.

Barlow and Sanders were not the only "govt" folks involved in the real estate options

I hope the people who sold their homes received what they were worth, and not cheated by county officials.
