Some of my neighbors hang them in their garden to warn the others. Or vultures who spend their lives enriching themselves by stealing the work of others?

Greers spreads signs
Loudon, TN

Openning day of tourist season and there are dozens of Greers signs on 72, 11 and 321 plus waving kids wearing sandwich boards. Well done Greers. Make us look butt ugly. If you think this is okay, what kind of crappy furniture do you recommend to make my home more attractive? Your signs show a total lack of respect for the community and give your store the quality image of a pawn shop or massage parlor. There are fallen, faded signs along 444 in ravines, in bushes and on the bank at 444 @ 72. Would you mind removing your litter?

Crows are just shriveled up little buzzards. Ugly, mean and always wanting more. We stick out a couple new scarecrows every couple of years but the same old crows keep coming back. Good grief!

Hey Seymour, how yu doing today? Boy was it hot yesterday. Tacking up signs, & being the meat in a sandwich board is hot work. I sure could have used a pink gorilla with a cold cola yesterday. Come to thank about it I could have used a foot long with chili & a milk shake from Dairy Queen, say from the year 1959. It's been a lot of years since I've had one but the last time I remember it was two little wenner's instead of one. Have you noticed there are a lot of little wennie's around these days. Well I got to go I have a lot of signs to put up in Tellico Village, if you see the pink gorilla send her my way.

I saw the sandwich. Poor litter feller. What's up with all the waving and dancing and twirling these days. The Statue of Liberty being used to lure folks and the critters and the sun god its a wonder someone hasn't had a heat stroke. The mannequin on 321 is the best attention getter and she doesn't even move. We need more mannequins holding signs in Loudon County. Cheap labor and think of the possibilities! You know that town that is famous for the biggest ball of string? Think what a mannequin on every corner could do for business and for tourism. (Mannequins dressed like cops in the medians on 321 with signs on where and how to cross over. "KEEP RIGHT TO SEE ONCOMING TRAFFIC!")

I suspect you have to be a little crazy to be a sandwich, then again could just be happy to have a job.

I understand there are some mannequins running for school board, but they ain't cheap. I was hoping the fisher persons would start displaying a sign to tell every body how much fish they were catching. Without them there is no way of telling who you should be crowding. I think one of thoes mannequins was working a Wal-Mart last week, It should have been doing the roll back signs, I didn't see any roll back so they must have been planning on moving out side for the summer. They never seem to sweat.

Outdoor signs are by far the most ecological form of advertising, as long as they are not left to rot on their metal stakes. Greers signs are not biodegradible.

Hmmmmmm. I just got a message on that last post telling me to refrain from inappropriate material. Biodegradable isn't a four-letter word. And the whole concept is clean and green. That was mean. Good grief!

Well I finally got some rain, lots of it in a short time. Of course if it rains here the power goes out. I havent been out to look, but I hope it washed the spring seeds material off the roof. I posted a sign asking that there be more rain & to target the roof v ees where all the tree trash has collected. If I can get it into the gutters then it will have a place to rot. Seymour you must have been a bad baby. Inappropriate language at your age. For shame.

The City of Maryville has put a restriction on political signs, hopefully Lenoir City/Loudon County will do the same. It is really an eyesore during election time. A sign does NOT influence me on who to vote for.

I saw the boys out with sign's on Saturday. They should be paid a heat bonus. It looks a little easier than picking & selling black berries. I bet they don't get chiggers at work.

True, no chiggers, but like picking blackberries along the road, those kids are getting one heck of a farmer's tan (sunburn). The realty-style signs remain a real eyesore. I can live with the sandwich board kids. FYI LC prohibits signs on the right-of-way or any location that is not directly in front of the advertised business. Loudon Co prohibits signs that are closer than 500 ft apart. TN DOT prohibits signs on the right-of-way on state roads such as Hwy 72 and 444. Enforcement is a problem. The state seems to mainly pick up signs belonging to charities. The signs are fair game if illegally placed. First come, first served. Pick 'em up now and and save them for winter. We're overdue for a white one. The plastic signs will make great sleds.

Do you remember the West End Grill? Area Looks as good as it did then, some places look even better. That was about 1959. Not much change in a small town. Snow? if it snows I'll write my name, believe me. it would be a big problem. It was "moonshine" didn't see any dope.
