It's been a month scents he was executed by a sheriff and I MISS HIM SO MUCH!!! The very last time I saw or talked to him was on July21.

He put himself in that situation. Why should a cop assume less than the worst in that situation? Unfortunately, city council will probably award the family a nice cash settlement, and my taxes will go up, again.

He was selling drugs for crying out loud. As they say, you sleep in the bed you make. If the cops hadn't shot him, someone else would have. Besides, I don't want anyone offering the youngsters in this great country drugs. It's not like he was being productive to society. What a waste. I give more respect for the wetbacks that work hard for their money. You cholos and cholas give Mexicans a bad name. |

I'd be interested to know how all of the people assuming the deputies were right would feel if they were facing state prison after a Deputy decided to plant guns or drugs on them because they were young and black or Hispanic. The Deputy knows judges and jurors will believe whatever he says because he is one of the "good guys" and no one will believe a young minority at the Torrance courthouse, where the case will end up. This has been a common occurence among Lennox Sheriffs. A person who lies to put someone in prison is a criminal and doesn't deserve to walk the streets themself, much less wear a badge.

By the way, what evidence is there that Mr. Portillo was dealing drugs? Second, why does the LASD refuse to release the names of the Deputies involved?

Does it really matter what the situation was in this case. The guy has probably done some really bad things in the past that render him a piece of slime, Just another dirt ball out of the way. I wish the cops would go hunting down in south central and knock off a few more that deserve it.

I lived in lennox for a long time, you are right, these people don't know how the sheriff are, how they act like a gang themselves bring shame and dishonor to the uniform they wear. I am sure there were other alternatives to disfuse the situation, its called officer discretion. |

I grew up in Lennox also, what u say is true. things have not changed from when I was running the streets in the 70s. People dont understand but we know the truth wheres the media when you need them, have the family take it to the media. Let the rest of the world what is happening in Lennox.Let the officers show cause,was there probable cause to even stop the victim.Was there a warrant? there are alot of questions that need to be answered. I pray there is justice for the FAMILIA. |

At the present time,. we enjoy having what is known as smart bombs. Now we need to work on SMART BULLETS that know who to hit and who not to hit. But, until then, bad guys beware!!!!
