Check out the article. Thank you for citing real data. Why aren't the residents aware of this?

Wow, what a shame for residents of CV. I feel sorry for those students having to put up with inept "leadership" in the district. The only thing I recommend is keep shipping your students away from CV schools. Maybe then will they invest in instruction.

Shame on the teacher wrote:
Please watch your language.....what kind of example are you setting by name calling. The truth is that Rojas, Pizano and Molina were and still are the majority of the teachers choice. The Teachers Union was not representative of the entire membership, they are very divided. Since they lost their campaign I guess Carlstone will be getting a job in Wiseburn...How easily everyone forgets that the 4 bozos several years back approved Dr. Cheryl White's contract and Pizano was the only smart one who opposed it. This Dr. was running everything to the ground and only the elite teachers in her web are upset they have to stop living the high life they did in the district when she was around. Say it like it is.
Name calling is the only thing these people understand. Have you been to a board meeting and watched how Ramos talks to citizens and students? And on election day harassed teachers? Pizano voted to lay off 6o teachers. The majority of the teacher's union endorsed Talavera, Salas, amd Felix AND only 8 led by Jack Foreman supported the corrupt. Foreman is being paid by Fernandez to cause division in the union and a mindless group of 8 bitter, veteran teachers follow his lead. It is in the board minutes where Ramos pointed to Jack Foreman and stated, "You sat in my living room and put Fernandez in a position of power". Jack Foreman stood speechless when she exposed him. Now I can't wait until unification goes through and these corrupt board members have to run against decent human beings who care about kids. Say hi to Foreman, Ramos, and Fernandez for me.

There are huge divides within CV- each has their own idea on how to "improve" a district with a high transient population (unfortunately), low test scores, and a 65% grad rate (about)... There has also been an influx of charter schools in the area, which are able to offer an alternative to the lower achieving high schools (Leuzinger, Hawthorne).. Although these charter schools benefit those students who get accepted, those students who don't "meet" the charter schools "standards"- good student who passes all their classes (including minimum GPA), no real special needs to have to accommodate, high test scores from middle/elementary school years, high 8th grade placement test scores in math and English, etc. end up getting "dumped", aka forced, aka persuaded, to have their child attend either Leuzinger or Hawthorne (and sometimes Lawndale).. As the local high school, Hawthorne and Leuzinger by law have to take all students that live withinin their local boundaries.. Unfortunatley, this tends to be the students who are at higher risk (low test scores, high ELL population, students receiving special education services, previous behavior/discipline/attendance issues, students who come to the 9th grade reading below grade level and are not testing well in math usually either)... So, Hawthorne HS and Leuzinger HS are left with all the students from Lawndale, Wiseburn, Hawthorne, and Lennox that don't get into the charter schools, or other neighboring south bay higher performing schools. So it is a difficult situation for sure, and will be a continual struggle I foresee.. I do know that Mark Newell, the 2nd year principal at Hawthorne HS, is definitely making POSITIVE CHANGE!!

Sick Days = 24 (2 days per month)
Credit Card =$500.00 no explanations needed
Auto expense =$500.00 p/month
Cell Phone =$50.00 monthly stipend
Longevity = 9%(approx.$14,709 added to
base pay)which makes base
pay approx.$178,136)At time of contract Fernandez had served less than 10 years and technically did not qualify for a longevity increase.
You forgot the 7% that the district pays for his PERS instead of it coming out of his salary. Based on his salary, 7% is a lot of money. And this guy has a history of having these types of contracts. When he was in Inglewood people were handing out copies of his contract out on the streets. What does that tell you? It's all about the money and nothing else.

The only disintegrated is your brain bozo.
I shouldn't take the time to reply to someone who can't write in complete sentences but I will. You are obviously one of the few who feel CV is better off by having these wanna be politicians on the board. One is a baby factory; another is a clueless puppet who just sits there and nods her head along with the other two; and the third is a bitter, ex-employee who owes the superintendent a few favors and is now stuck in a position she can't get out of. But of course you don't see that becuase you're a moron who is somehow benefiting from all of this, whether it be money, a job, a contract, etc. It's only those that are directly benefiting from these bozo's that agree with them. Everyone else see's the real picture and is crossing their fingers that unification takes place so this can all come to an end. The county is not going to step in ever. They are just as much a part of this as the people running CV to the ground. Justice will be served in the end; you just wait and see.
