We need a new manager and look for the Sirloin Stockade! That resturant has been serving the same stuff for years and some of the food each day seems years old! The facility needs cleaned up a bit also! It would be nice to have a new resturant in C-ville with a breakfast buffet! My family have of late been travelling to Independence for breakfast to get something nicer and different! The Half Pint resturant in Indy is a great place to eat good food and lots of it in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere! Try it!

reopening taco hut would be nice also!

The new bbq place is great. A little slow but tastes fantastic!

Are you referring to the BBQ place on 11th street or the one on 8th?

Havent tried the bbq place on 11th,but you better hurry if you want to eat at the one on eighth street,they wont be around long,it was nasty,dried out ribs,bad sauce,wilted lettuce for a salad,the corn on the cob was over cooked and turning brown,the texas toast was soggy on the outside and dry on the inside as well as being old and cold,the baked beans were like van de camps dumped into a pan with tiny pieces of pork sausage thrown in,underwhelming to say the least.Oh and at almost 14 bucks a head a real bargain to boot,At least the portions were small so i didnt feel bad about tossing it out and wasting food,hell even dogs turned their noses up at it.

A few of the restaurants I've got experience with.

Lannings is great. We eat there in the evenings and for breakfast on Saturdays sometimes. Always good food and service.

The Chophouse in South Coffeyville has good food and service also but they are never busy when we are there. I hope they can stay in business.

Both El Charro and El Pueblito are decent, service is quick and friendly and the food is not bad. Pretty much interchangable betweent he two.

Have been two Tavern three times and got horrible service everytime, we won't give them a 4th chance. The food was average twice and once the steak was almost inedible it was so tough.

There is really no place else we eat. I've not been to the BBQ place yet and I do not eat Chinese food.

Lannings has very good food, good help, its the best on town by far!

i loved that bbq place on 8th. yeah its a bit of a wait but still really good. and i love our el plubitoes (sp?)

I'd give anything to have the Pig Stand back in business.

The BBQ on 8th St (Ross' BBQ) was outstanding, the one on 11th st was ok but somewhat dry.

Lannings by far is the best,
Tavern is getting worse daily, the service is unacceptable(they are at times down right rude) and the food just tasted old.

The Stockade is horrible the smell of sour mop water hits you right as you walk in and again the food just tasted old.

El Pubs is Ol' Faithful.

for all of you posting on the best/worse eateries,i wish i could afford to eat out, with the utilities, food, carpmt tv and internet, i had to cut something out, so it was eating out. you guys must have stable jobs.

Sheeeshh okay Debbie Downer... I mean really.. I too am without a job but doesnt mean you have to make everyone all down in the dumps.. Can people not exchange their opinions on local restaurants without you spoiling their fun!!
On to my food opinions!
Lannings.. Not too shabby ... service is iffy.
Tavern.. not worth the money.
Ross BBQ pretty good but I prefer the one on 11th
Hong Kong is by far the best Chinese and well the mexican restaurants are both good
We need a good pizza joint.. pizza hut sucks... I sure wish they would bring back that one that burnt down that was great pizza and wings!

I agree with Diddles.

Pizza Hut sucks because we have us kids working here that don't care, YEPPERS !you'll never find my family or friends eating here. OH YEA ! plus a New Manager that thinks it's better to cut overhead cost by serving you crap off our own floor. Waste not, want not, goes on your plate everyday. The less you know what goes on in the back room while your Pizza is being prepared, the less We have to throw away out the door as WASTE ! Happy eating everyone !

That place is Filthy and floors are sticky and so are the tables. Yeppers! it's down home if you live that way.

I eat there often..how are the floors sticky they are carpet??? I was there about 2 weeks ago when it was slower and there were 2 waitresses wiping down the booths? I don't know what you are talking about. Down Home is by far one of the best places to eat in Indy.

Down Home is good, but you better take an Oxygen mask with you because the cigarette smoke is thick enough to give you cancer in just 1 sitting.
