Ridiculous, this isn't about spending or they would have, and should have, been out for the last 8 years. Now we need to spend to get out of the crisis. People need social services even more in this economy, now's not the time to cut off necessary spending as a knee jerk reaction to mess we're in that ook years to create.

CTO has it all backwards, thank goodness millions of Americans know this, judging by the true numbers that rallied at Washington not too long ago. Government must get spending under control. The waste has been created over many years, but the current administration has made it astronomically worse... sorry I missed this tea party!

CTO is CORRECT. The Teabaggers are mired in BS. These EX NEO CON MORONS stood silent from 2001 to 2008 while our local property taxes increased every year - year after year. NOT ONE OTHER TAX HAS GONE UP because while these J.O's screamed Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, the federal and state debt accumulated. TAX PAYING PROPERTY OWNERS KNOW THIS IS TRUE.

I feel the reason behind most of our troubles and the need for TEA Parties is the government’s ability to print up whatever money it wants to manipulate us.

Maybe this will help make the danger of fiat money clear.

Imagine you and me are setting across from each other. We create enough money to represent all of the world’s wealth.

Each one of us has one SUPER Dollar in front of him.

You own half of everything and so do I.
I’m the government though. I get bribed into creating a Central Bank.

You’re not doing what I want you to be doing so I print up myself eight more SUPER Dollars to manipulate you with.

All of a sudden your SUPER Dollar only represents one tenth of the wealth of the world!

That isn’t the only thing though. You need to get busy and get to work because YOU’VE BEEN STIFFED with the bill for the money I PRINTED UP to get YOU TO DO what I WANTED.

That to me represents what has been happening to the economy, and us, and why so many of our occupations just can’t keep up with the fake money presses.

They have been beating us with our own stick!!!!1

to ACititzen,
no other tax has gone up? what planet are you living on? If you pay attention to what is going on in both federal and state congress, here is a partial list of taxes about to escalate: energy, payroll, property, sales....cap and trade has been estimated by the government's OWN numbers to cost each household at least $500-600 a year more, which means it'll be at least twice that...get some common sense, stop listening to what others tell you (from both sides), and educate yourself on our Constitution (notice the gradual erosion of our liberties, by both dem and repub presidents?), and realize that socialism has failed EVERYWHERE it has been..

This movement is for real, this administration is really getting the American people fired up and there will be a price to pay as the democrats keep pushing for a socialized government. Americans like the freedoms we have, this is what our forefathers fought to keep.Obama is not our King,he is supposed to be our President and I wish he would start acting like one.

All these so-called tea baggers should have a Fox news patch on their sleeve because that's the garbage that wills them to do this sort of thing. Glenn Beck can tell them to jump off a cliff and they's be there.Do you see them protesting Exxon or other big corporations?? How about protesting the G20 in Pittsburgh? It's all about folks who don't like having a black man in office. Let them turn in their Social Security cards and Medicare if they don't like government.

Please do not pretend to speak for all of this nation's founding fathers. There's a reason the constitutional convention was not resolved in a day. They were not all on the same page. Founder, Thomas Paine, who was not at the convention, was pretty much an atheist socialist, encouraging everything from tax funded schools to old age pension.
Lie prostrate and worship Reagan, your smiling jelly bean munching globalist corporate man, if you must. But leave the founders alone!

The current administration inherited a disaster, why don't you call it like it is??? The current administration lowered taxes for the majority of people.

The deficit, which is an annual reoccuring debt, was created over the Bush years, Clinton left the budget with a surplus. The current budget is astronomical because the spending was already in place, then Bush administration additionally added the drug prescription and the bail out. The current budget was created under Bush.

The "Only" added spending for the next budget that will actually be under the Obama adminstration is the stimulus package, which is already returning dollars, and is spread out over 10 years. It was necessary to avoid a complete disaster (set up and waiting to happen).

Nothing backwards except your perspective. How on earth could or would people so vehemently oppose government spending allow it to rise astronomically over 8 years, if that is their true purpose then they completely missed the boat and were asleep at the wheel. They obviously don't care care very much is they have 8 years to spare before taking action. That is just plain nonsense and so transparent, they aren't out there because of spending. Look at the signs they hold, they don't even know what they are there for. Tea baggers are nothing but a joke and they don't even realize how completely foolish they sound.

"Socialized government"??? Democrats are taking away freedoms?? Obama is not acting like a president? I'll venture to guess that you felt Bush "acted presidential", especially with all the "cowboy sayings" bring'em on, and his glazed looks with mumbled speech. I'll also venture to guess that you don't have a clue what socialism is or that many things in the US are already considered socialism, long before Obama took office. You probably did not research the Office of Civil Rights reports that show how the greatest freedoms to Americans were lost in the last 8 years under Bush.

As far as "the movement being real", there isn't even a real central theme for the tea baggers, those that attend these events are about clueless as can be. If it was truly real, it would not have had to be promoted and organized by a news station, the only thing the movement is, is really pathetic.

None of this suddenly happened because Obama took office. We were at the break of economic crisis, people are in dire need for social services because of the crisis, our taxes have just been lowered, it doesn't make any sense to protest after the fact to spite one's self. It is only a smoke screen that people are hanging onto because they don't like the president not because of anything they can actually attribute to his own actions.

I don't vote party line, but I would certainly vote against any candidate that lined themselves with tea baggers, because that is all I need to know that they are not concerned about the bigger picture or the facts.

Poor Rayboy who hasn't a clue that it has NOTHING to do with having a "black" man as president. For the millionth time, we are not prejudice about the color of the president. There are plenty of "blacks" in other offices of government and many other top business officials that no one has a problem with. Please reply next time w/an intelligent answer concerning the actual policies and issues of government before giving a comment that shows your lack of knowledge of what we trying to get fixed.

Rayboy did give a factual comment, Fox News organized and promoted the whole tea bagger episodes. The things that people claim to protest would have existed regardless of who took office, and you can't honestly say that they just happened to wait until Bush was out after eight years to finally get fed up with government and it's spending.

Obama was in a office a few months, lowered most Americans taxes and suddenly Fox News promotes tea parties, it doesn't add up. There is no way the same people would be equally as mad with the same scenario if McCain would have won. Tea Baggers hold nasty signs against Obama, it is a personal attack and using the fed up with spending claim is just a cover up.

If people really cared about spending they would have organized against Bush, against the prescription plan for seniors, against the bail outs, against costs of the wars, against pork projects that reached an all time high under Bush, against the thousands of new federal subsidy programs Bush added and so on and so on. Gimme a break, the outrage these few but loud and obnoxious tea baggers spew is just a farce against a man they don't like and they don't want to express the real reason why.

It is clear and obvious to most, except the tea baggers themselves, who think they are pulling off something, they are only kidding themselves... fools.

You crack me up, CTO. We need to spend to get out of a [financial] crisis? Forget about blaming the previous spenders, the healthcare bill alone has the single largest price tag ever, and they don't even know how to pay for it. You must think it's free to you. Can't wait to see your posts in the coming months when you start paying for it.

Oh, by the way, perhaps you didn't see the actual motivation for passing this in the Senate. It's not about Americans having health coverage. It's about the Democratic Party being the first to pass it through the legislature.[Bill Clinton's words, not mine.]

When you don't have any money in your bank account to pay your household bills, do you run out and buy a $60K car? I don't think so. You were amusing for a short while.
