We have a new superintendent, but don't get your hopes up. He's from somewhere around southern Missouri. Sounds like he pretty much got ran out of town down there. I think we hired a real winner...or maybe not.

Just read postings from Theodosia, the town that our new Super came in from. WOW, is all I can say.
Now don't take my word, look it up and make calls, sure is interesting. Facts are facts, who checked those references again. Well there is an election coming up, will be makin changes that is fur sure.
The financial mistakes alone are scary enough, not to mention all the gossip.

Just remember things are said on a message board without fact. I'm not saying he didn't make mistakes, everyone does, but normally postings make things sounds worse than they actually are. I'd say give the dude a chance, make sure he's going a good job and if not send him on his way.

From what I have gathered, they have a very disfunctional board down there, I'm of the feeling it's more of a rogue board that a bad Sup. Sounds like it may be even worse now. Just my opinion from from the research I've done. Let's see how it goes.

You might want to attend a School Board meeting at Lutie, the new Superintendent had to fight to keep the doors of the school open, beg Dese and the Feds to help recover over 2 years of money over $180,000 that was just sitting and waiting to be "applied for" as should have been done by the Supt. Also no raise in the levy lost the district $29,000 as should have happened. Also No Grants were applied for so none this school year, opp's ya still think it's sour grapes. Want facts next time don't just listen to the accused, look into the records at Dese.com and after the last 3 days I imagine you will be hearing alot from the Auditor, it's a mess of unequal porporation.Or was it just a very bad dream, hope so, opps no it wasn't the facts are in black and white.

On the money Lutie School is having to retrieve. You might want to check with DESE or the new Superintendent at Lutie School, Theodosia, MO. Mr.Scot Young. We now discover that for the past 2+ years our past Superintendent did not apply for the allocated Federal funds that were for Lutie School, how does $400,000.00 strick you? Also for the 2011-2012 school year, he did not apply for any grants. Have received close to $300,000. in grant money.
Incompentence, missmanagement, I don't know what you call it, we are still digging our way out and havent found to bottom of the hole yet.
I am sorry, someone needs to do better homework.

Well we at Theodosia finall are able to say, We told you so".
We knew things were in financial ruin, didn't really realize how bad until the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for Missouri finished going over the books and the Auditor's report cam in in December, but we were right, When you have an incompentent person in a position of authority and no on questions them or does their job, as we had with the old School Board, you gonna have serious problems. Now that our district is recovering federal money we can start to see the top of the barrell, but to be solvent it will take a while. As broke as he left us, we had to replace 5-6 furnaces and Air. Cond units, we made it. Now to make sure the Supt. and others apply for grants for next year, because this year we have none because the old Supt. didnt apply for them, oh oh another mistake? Our community was left in shables, we are emerging and will overcome is black period.
You have to look into the school finances, check what is going on and look over thier sholder or you could end up like Lutie did.
Now we see in your newspaper that we hired a person on an abuse registery, OMG

Well looks like the "Good Ole Boy" network streches from southern Mo. Theodosia,MO to Chillhowee,MO doesn't it?

At least we have a new school board president, now perhaps they have someone that will think of the good of our schools.

Do ya think all the guys stuck together, even when they didn't know who this Superintendent really was? Duh. Don't know for sure but thats the best excuse I can find.

If you did down south you will find a whole lot more,

Am glad to see the School Board now is really trying to do the right thing.
At least they realize they needed help and are letting professionals look for a new Superintendent. If you don't have a strong background in supervising, Human Resources and managing a larger corp. you need to turn it over to someone that is used to asking the right questions, hopefully these people will weed out the cull's this time.

Chilhowee's finances were weak to begin with but got wrecked by Witless. Overspent something like $200,000 here, never wrote grants he promised to do and would cover what he did. The board wised up but didn't go far enough! Good teachers are being run out by the principal who thinks she runs everything. First science, then art, now heard a rumors the music teacher has quit. Why does the principal not return phone calls or answer emails asking about what's going on with our kids? One janitor thinks he's going to get fired, the other one is looking for a new job. How many other teachers are looking for jobs elsewhere to get away from this mess? Wonder if she'll dig up some dirt on her new boss like she did the last two? The problems don't all come from the superintentendt's office. Maybe they should clean house and bring in a whole new administration? Next board meeting should be one to watch when two new members get on it, at least two of the three have their sights aimed at getting rid of the REAL problem at Chilhowee and getting things fixed.

You've got to be kidding! The music teacher quit or did she run him off too? Seems like every time someone tries to do something other than sports and gets something going they're suddenly out the door! What a shame... Didn't he get them uniforms and get them donated? I went to the Christmas play and it was the best program I've ever seen put on in Chilhowee! Didn't the band actually win some trophies this year??? They looked and sounded pretty good at the homecoming parade in Warrensburg!

More rumors coming out of our school today! Art teacher, science teacher, and football coach all run out. Anyone else noticed that everyone pushed out is a male who has pushed for his program?

Also told that at least four other teachers are actively looking for something else to get away from the problem. Maybe it's time to start showing up at board meetings and demanding answers! Next meeting is April 10th. If you care about keeping the best teachers in our school you need to show up and make your opinions known!!!

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
