You laugh, but my high school has no lockers. Students have to carry everything around all day.
is that to prevent people from bringing weapons? it is a pretty good idea not to have lockers at all, but during a fire if someone trips over a backpack while getting out, they could get killed. apparantly this kid once tripped and hit his head and had a concussion and died in the fire

i think it is very judicious to have locker searches because people could be selling drugs around school and other deadly weapons!

there shouldnt be locker checks because that is invading the students rights. If the teachers cant trust us then why dont they just have us throw our stuff all over the hall to make sure that we arent hiding anything. seriously people this is a bad idea. if they think something is suspious about the student then they should talk to the student. NOT by going through their personal stuff!!!!!!!!!!

You are the reason we need dress codes in schools. The kids come in dressed like streetwalkers, and I don't even blame the kid because I can only imagine what kind of parent allows their child to come to school dressed that way. Your language on this message board speaks volumes as to what kind of person and parent you are (or will be).
The funny thing is, back in the day you or your parents thought that women weren't allowed to wear pants, have skirts over their ankles, or cut their hair short. Clothing are a ways of us students expressing ourselves. I agree, there are girls who look like, vulgarly put, whores. But why should I be punished for their poor judgement?
Also, don't blame the parents. Kids will stach clothing in their backpacks and change in school, and rescently paren'ts aren't really allowd to do ANYTHING to punish kids.(I say spankings work.)
On the topic of locker checks, no, they're not good. You only think they are because you only apply this to short terms. It will start with lockers, that go to pockets, phones, iPods, and soon enough they'll be checking houses and cars withough warrents. Why? "we suspect you of harbering drugs/firearms." Is that really going to make us safer? I'm in favor of firearms. If someone's going to shot up the school, I want to get him FIRST!
Locker checks should be like searching one's house. WARRENT ONLY! I refuse to give up my rights because you can't tackle a guy with a gun... Pussies.
By the way, Mark, great post, I laughed when I read it.=)

Ever heard that there arent lockers on campus and there is no reason the kid should have been able to get onto campus with the weapons he was consisiting, all the kid did was walk onto the school and start shooting, "how do you prevent that with locker checks"????

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Aries

The level of sexual chemistry flowing between you and you-know-who is so powerful right now that you could almost reach out and touch it. This could lead to some X-rated scenes but there's also a chance that it could go another way and provoke a combustible atmosphere. So do your best to steer the situation in whichever direction you want it to take.
