I knew Max when I was a little kid. I was friends with his sister. I always felt bad for them because they pretty much had no discipline or supervision to speak of. Parents were divorced... 1 worked, the other... god knows what the hell they did! The kids never really had a chance, they were always passed back and forth between households... lots of things would go unnoticed (and even if the parents knew of the bad stuff the kids were getting into, I doubt they would've done anything about it). To the person that said "Max was always a loser" - I honestly don't think that Max ever had the opportunity to NOT go down a path of self-destruction. As for his sister, I lost touch with her, and she lingers in my thoughts, as I often worried about her.
One of the other guys (William Fox), I knew of him, but didn't know him. Not that the guy was ever that particularly attractive, but... that mugshot was truly dreadful. He did NOT look like someone in their 30s! I'm guessing Meth would be the culprit in that sort of physical demise.

I knew Max and Billy. I didn't see the mugshots until just now. Billy really messed himself up. Billy, what the hell, dude! Look in the mirror then look at other people you grew up with! Notice a difference?

I always knew there was something funny between Aaron and Max. But now that Aaron has stated the facts about them doing each other.
