There is something about a Republican that you can only stand for just so long. On the other hand, there is something about a Democrat that you can't stand for quite that long.

Who is typing this for you? You've always signed your name with an X.....

They need to have some kind of standards in the local republican party. In the last few years it seems they must not have wanted to win. Every year they nominate some natural born losers. Their lifestyles look more like springer guest than political candidates. They expect to use some marketing gimmicks to trick the public into supporting them. Were not stupid, we see the candidates by their fruits. Or better yet lack of fruits for certain ones.

The republican candidates who could win should blackball the few who can't ever win. Maybe they will take their shingle and shove it. Its been like a circus in town when the nominations come out. We have predicted every election perfectly over the last few years. Its easy to predict that losers will lose, that's just what they do.

Why try to trick the voters, just nominate someone that we can vote for.

oh yeah, you really predicted old Rick Boucher as the winner too The only thing wrong in Russell Co is all the ignorant people who thinks it okay to keep the same old Democrat crooks in office. They don't have enough sense to understand that the world would be a much greater place if there were ZERO liberals, they're only a drain on society.

We have not missed an election prediction in years. including bouchers loss. I am a republican remember. I told u this once.

Hey they are no bigger crooks than some of the recent republican key candidates. I have done business with both sides and the republicans star candidates are as crooked as they come. But what do you expect from people who make their living by lieing and being deceptive.

We can even do percentages and be fairly close. Wait until the nominations are out and ill show you.

I already know who can not ever win.

I am a fellow who likes small parties, and the Republican party is about the size I like.

Time for a change! All you Republicans out here need to get some die-hard Republicans to run that we can vote for CHANGE!

I dont know a lot about politics, but I know a good party man when I see one. So get some good candidates on the ticket that we can vote for and we will see some change.

Right on if the republicans want to win county elections they first must weed out the their party. We have tried to tell them 4 times already who we will not ever support at the polls. If they keep nominating them same fools, they deserve to lose. They share a few republican traits but they are far from being real republicans as described on the republican web site.

That's why they always lose, we don't want to vote for half asses. It seems that the concept has eluded them that were the boss and decision maker . If you act better than everybody and are conceited and run over everybody and ruin peoples lives between elections, don't expect support on election day. We the voters do not support losers.

Kinda like what is going on with Griffith right now. The people who helped him have turned on him for his double speak. And in the paper I've done seen him caught in a couple of lies. He is another corporate lackey.......

And this is what ruins the party. The democrats candidates meet more of the republican guidelines than the republican candidates do. A vote for a republican today is a vote supporting a bad character who will do as bad characters do, which is lie, steal, cheat and womanize with he power we give them. After there done in office we can't take it back.

People might as well vote democratic, and I don't blame them one bit. On the local level it is easy to know the snakes n the grass and the republicans are gonna have to get people with good names to ever win anything serious. We aint going to vote for people who's very name makes us gag.

I say, do away with the Republican party and let these democrats take over but when things go wrong and you vote the same lying ones back in keep your mouth off of them. If you vote for them and you are happy with them shut up about them. One party is no better than the other once they get elected. They will make campaign promises to you and think you are walking on water. Try to reach them by phone or in person once they get elected. They do not know you until the next election. If you are happy with what you got I say vote them back in and keep your mouth shut about them and leave them alone. Ask yourself if you are better off today than you were four years ago, if so, vote them all back in but shut your mouth off of them in the meantime. Stop whinning about them.

If you r a republican, why don't you find a good candidate that people can vote for. What you doing sitting back waiting on someone else to bring out a good candidate. Get in the party or get out. Whats your problem? You are saying you are a Republican, then get off your butt and help find a some electable canidates!

this year could be different, and it just might be with bob gibson as our Republican chair. We need to stop wasting our time with the constitutional offices and focus on the board of supervisors. That's where Democrats have been robbing this county blind for years. Danny Brown has used 'yes men' like Bob Keene, Mike Puckett and Bill Wampler to have his way with the County. With redistricting taking place, and no one to gerrymander his district for him, we can take over the Board and put Rusell County back on the right track. We need a good candidate in Honaker, and one in South Castlewood.

With Jim Gillespie out of office, we can finally start doing things that will help our County. I can't count how many people have told me they are glad he's finally gone. Next to go should be Harry Rutherford and the entire IDA. They haven't created a job in this County in over 5 years. But the IDA and County sure have bought a lot of promotional products from Harry...

Time for some much needed change and sunlight in Russell County government!!!!

You are exactly right. Danny Brown has been the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for over 30 years and refuses to step down and let someone else take over. He needs to go home period! I feel we need a complete board with the exception of Jon Bowerbank and Joseph Puckett in order for the board to get anything accomplished. I read in several board meetings that they can never get anything accomplished where its 3-3 with no tie-breaker.
What has the Board of Supervisors and Harry Rutherford done to get jobs in this County?? We have nothing here to work at. Why? Because they all are so busy lining their own pockets to worry about even trying to get JOBS. Why should they, they have a JOB? They was so fast to bring out their gold shovels when the two plants went in for LEAR and Aluminum Plant, but now that they are pulling out, you don't read anything in the papers what they have to say about that. I followed tractor-trailers with those presses from LEAR leaving and didn't see on Board Member or IDA Board member following those or trying to get their names in the local paper to say that these two plants pulled out leaving hundreds out of work. It's time for a change on the Board of Supervisors and the IDA Board. So goodbye Danny Brown, Mr. Keen, Shy Kennedy, and Wampler. I wouldn't vote for them for anything else in the county. Its definitely time for a change!!! They all need to go so that someone can run who is interested in bringing people JOBS to feed their families and pay their taxes. WE NEED JOBS, JOBS AND MORE JOBS IN RUSSELL COUNTY? WHERE THEY AT????????? VOTE THEM OUT COME COUNTY ELECTION TIME! BEEN THERE TOO LONG AND HAVN'T DONE NOTHING BUT LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS AND CREATE A JOB FOR THEIR OWN FAMILY OR FRIENDS.

how do you know I am not active in the party? Maybe I have spent years tring to make a difference and you dont listens. How many times you may have heard me speak and not considered my opinion? How many times have you nominated people I didn't approve of and you lost? How many times do you have to lose before you learn who not to associate with?

A very few people ruin it for the other people who could actually win. Cut your losses and quit running losers.

What would I know? Don't listen, every time you run a loser you support the democrats buy making them a shu in. Plus you make the party look stupid while they lose..

Someone better step up to the plate, otherwise, the democrats will run unopposed and be handed all the positions with a silver spoon. How can it get any worse? I agree with you, Republicans or as bad as the democrats but we need change in this County. Why don't you come out on the ticket, we will support you! In politics every vote counts! We need to run this little "click" out of the elected postions and vote someone in that is not a "puppet".

How do you know I don't already hold a office or if I am planning on running or not?

Almost all my employees say they would rather vote republican but almost always vote democratic in the county. I use them as a gauge to make predictions and their majority always matches the voters majority.

Who is going to be on the Republican and Democrat tickets next county election? I sure hope we don't have a third party candidate. All they do is attract good voters away from one of the good candidates and change the election outcome.
