The city would be better off if it when broke and the state took over city operations. It seems to me that the people who run the city could care less about the people who have to put up with their don,t give a damn attitude.

Are you kidding me ? Republicans still think a government run public option wouldn't save jobs and increase salaries of middleclass workers.
Take the $1000 a month the city is paying for healthcare costs for each employee they have and divide that by the 25 days each employee would work in a normal month you get $40.00 a day that the city is paying towards each employee's healthcare costs. Then take $40.00 and divide that by an eight hour shift, the city is spending $5.00 an hour every hour on each employee's healthcare costs. I'm not even including any co-pays employee's may be paying out of pocket and not even sure if the employee's contributions towards healthcare are included in these final numbers. This $5.00 is just the bottom line. Don't lie to the people on this site and tell them paying $5.00 an hour or more for every hour for each employee's healthcare costs is substainable and not killing jobs. La de da the city's healthcare fund is just doing great, while it's sucking the life right out of the City's budget. Next time you want to lie to the city taxpayers, try printing less facts and figures to prove yourself wrong. When are these lie's going to stop ? We need healthcare reform now !!!!! |

What the city council needs to do is stop lying to the city taxpayers about healthcare costs. The city is paying out over $5.00 an hour for each and every employee, yet the City's healthcare fund is just doing great. While the rest of the City is flat out broke. Think about this the city shows a defecit of $800,000 dollars according to the city council. The city spending $5.00 an hour for each of the 100 city employee's which is about $1,040,000 dollars shortfall $800,000 but the city healthcare fund doing just great. We need healthcare reform before we lose all our jobs. |

The government can't hanle the money they get currently. There are all sorts of abuse that is allowed in the welfare department just to keep people like yourself believing in the government. They can't handle social security either, as that is going bankrupt... Do you honestly beleive that healthcare will be better? Find me one person in Congress or the Senate that is going to give up the gold plated health care we pay for them to have and take whatever crap they force on us. Oh something like 54% of America doesn't want the Obama plan, so why is it being forced down upon us during a down time. All it will do is add a another trillon to our debt. |

All this call for healthcare reform should not be the issue...what is the issue is that it is time for people to take responsibility for themselves and STOP relying on the government to do it for you....All this whining and crying about health insurance and how we are feeding the "fat cats" of the insurance companies....so your alternative is to feed the "fat cats" in government instead AND receive inadequate health care....IDOTS....

Well put! |

The Lebanon County Career and Technology Center only pays $800 a month for the teachers healthcare costs, so what gives with the City of Lebanon shelling out $1000 per employee. Odds are pretty good that the LCCTC teachers have better insurance then the City employee's have.
