Some believe that God torments the wicked forever in a burning hell. Others feel that suchan idea is inconsistent with what the Bible says at 1 John 4:8:"He that does not love, has not come to know God, because God is love."

What do you think?

This is true. The Bible doesn't teach the doctrine of hellfire. After God created Adam and Eve he told them that if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad they would positively die.- Genesi 2:16-17
(There is no metion of hellfire here.)

After they sin, the Creator sentence them to death not torment. Genesis 3:19 is clear. It says:"In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it youwere taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return."

Had Adam and Eve been in danger of burning in hell, would not God have warned them about such a punishment? He did not mention anything about suffering after death. And it would be impossible for them to suffer because they did not have an immortal soul that would survive after death. The bible makes this very clear:"The soul that is sinning-it itself will die." - Ezekiel 18:4.

Psstt..... None of that is true, and you have wasted a great deal of time. Go do something constructive please.

Have you always felt this way or did something in particular cause you to take this position?

I have always known that religion was a lie.
It was one of the very first things I realized growing up.
There is nothing you can say that will convince me that there is an invisible magical supernatural being watching everything I do and keeping track of it all.
There were no talking snakes, and there was no 600 year old man building arks and sailing around with thousands of animals. It just never happened.
Its ridiculous, and its juvenile.

How did you come to realize this?

Daily Horoscope for November 27

Libra

If you had a bad day with your partner yesterday, today is the day to kiss and make up. The Moon blends with Neptune to create a romantic passion; this may be a little over the top, but sometimes a bit of drama is in order. Those of you with children may find them acting up, but if you listen closely, you'll find they really just want and need your attention.
