UPS IS NEXT TO REVIEW
East Islip, NY
|
It would appear that Mr. Munro, after failing at as a Trustee for this Village is going to make an attempt to downfall its current leadership. Along with his Mother, Lillian, who has strong ties with NYCOM and always directed her son during his term as trustee, will go to any length to sully the the Village of Islandia's good name. Mr. Munro, even after being sanctioned by the Village for crooked dealings, continued to slight the board he sat on, making every step to move forward a upward fight. Never serving his community to his best, he continued to allow his personal agenda cloud the real reason he was elected into office. It seems Mr. Monro felt slighted during his term, getting nothing accomplished and left with nothing to show for his 4 years. As a UPS driver, Mr. Munro would often politic while making deliveries through out the Village prior to being elected, promising his residents the world but never being able to make good on his failed promises. Newsday, it would seem, has not gotten its comments from other parties, except from the kitchen table of Mr. Monro, his mother Lillian, which lives next door to him. Mr. Monro has an axe to grind and has found another sympathetic ear to listen to his story. NYCOM, im sure would not find this to be a conflict as their have been other municipalities that operate the same way, with the board member being supervised by the town supervisor/mayor.

The Village of Islandia is a scam! What do they actually do for us? Have they made the towns they serve a better place to live? Its all about the money folks. They don't care about you. How many times have you driven down Old Nichols Rd. and seen a police check point? Seems like once a week. And how does this valued employee hold two full time jobs? Working 80 hrs a week out of a possible 168 is not an easy task. Someone needs to investigate this.

Yet another example of why these small, nepotism filled villages need to be abolished. Rise up villagers and shed the burden of high taxation--follow the initiate Atty. Gen. Cuomo championed and vote this additional governmental layer of waste out of existence. Perhaps the Attorney General should look into this particular matter and use it as an example of what occurs in these places. Newsday should also do an investigative study of all these little political fiefdoms.

Evidently you want big government to change it for them.

Everytime you hear of an un-insured accident, person(s) hurt or killed from a DWI driver, an un-inspected car involved in an accident, I hope they get as many of these people off the street so my family, which lives in Islandia can remain safe. So, everytime you see those check points, take a few seconds to slow down and comply. Take the phone away from your ear and hey, I dont know, pay attention to driving. Keep our kids safe.

5 Stars to them. Local govt at its best. Why wouldn't you want people that make the laws enforcing the laws? Seems like a win win. It's my opinion that as long as he doesn't supervise himself, which I would think the Mayor supervise both positions, there is not a conflict. just my opinion..

More sense of community awareness, all the improvements to area blocks, the memorial that was constructed, etc. What person isnt working multiple jobs today? As long as the job gets done correctly, more power to them.. Continue to do what they do. I work 2 jobs myself, my wife work as well. Do I need to be investigated also?

Since the article says one person can start the process to remove this person from ofice, Neil Monro should hit the streets again and get a petition going. Start in town house village, im sure the field of dreams would love to talk to him on this topic.

It's just like the schools. The boards are filled with retired teachers and administrators or relatives of teachers and administrators. Just check pretty much any district. So do you think they'll put kids and taxpayers first or their buddies and relatives? And I am not making this up.

I hear that TOI does the same thing. Nolan hires his family all the time and uses a broom as well.

Did the people that voted him in know he was an employee? If yes, the people have spoken. Why are we questioning thye people's right to vote? I guess thats a new trend in politics. That, and when they lose, the politico's go to court!!! We need to take back our country folks. We are pawns of the established political parties.
