The people or person doing these break ins need to be beaten or shot. God forbid if my home is broken into and they are caught by me. This has to be the lowest class of person in the world that would break in and steal from hard working people. There is nothing lower than a liar or a thief. I cannot stress how trash like this pisses me off. If they are caught in the act I truly hope the home owners catch them and not the police. That is the type of justice a situation like this needs. The criminal or criminals need to feel the wrath and anger of the people they are stealing from.

Last night ONCE AGAIN my car got broken into! That aggravates me sooooo much! Why don't these f-ing losers don't get off of their asses and go get legitimate jobs and stop robbing people? This is SICKKK! I am a single mother raising 3 teens struggling to just get by, and these idiots are just coming in to steal from us! The sad thing is that I didn't even call police because I reported when they stole our bikes and last time they broke in my car and also when I got home from work and found my window broken and NOTHING was done about it! I really have enough!

I understand the thefts are young women, one was arrested Sunday 06-03-'12 after she broke 1 of my kitchen windows, her car was impounded, after the police searched and found controlled drugs in a big gold bag she had it her car. I had caught her trying to take some of my jewelry as well. The young women needs to be held indefenitly to detox her and then released only when she has a place to live and a job! To pay restitution to her victims. There is a (what I believe is an older class ring) that is availiabile upon identicalion and contact local police with this post.

On that note I would like to state that one evening I was sitting in the ER at Acadia St Landry hospital and overheard on an officers radio the dipatcher was speaking of a complaint she had just recieved. Someone called in to report a suspicious person on Corporation, pacing up and down the road in a black tshirt. The caller could not identify that whether the person was of African American or white. She then went on to say " Oh no they cant have that on their street, they want this person to go away".Rude and unprofessional was her tone. So you see how serious the complaints called are taken? What if that officer hadnt responded and that same suspicious person had broke into ,possibly your residence, what would have been the officers defense? Oops Im sorry?
Unfortunately thats why suspicious activity is not reported. They do like we are asking them to actually work for their check and that is not acceptable!

If someone is in your home you are allowed to kill them. Please do! Awesome! If you feel threatened like if you catch them trying to pry open a door or window..same thing...shoot to kill and call cops after.....make my freaking day! If they die with a crowbar in their hand or with one leg in your window and one leg out you aren't breaking the law if you shoot them. People have kids to worry about and are more concerned about their children than their property being stolen....its not murder if you are defending the safety of your own family. If you can't be safe in your own damned house the cops apparently need some help doing their job and should appreciate the public service you provide.

there are laws that protect you if deadly force is used during a home invasion
all of you are on the internet and this information is at your fingertips,
when there is rash of shootings during home invasions, i think they will stop, this is what needs to happen, law enforcement is just not capable of stopping these crimes

Make sure shooting someone is worth more than the material things they may take from you.

This ia something you will have to live with. Maybe a good idea to shoot a warning shot first. Let them know you are armed and willing to shoot to protect your life.

Has neighborhood watch groups been formed in all CP neighborhoods?

There is not a city/town where the cops can do it alone, especially with cut backs. They need your help.

Yea they need our help come election time. They are useless. As far as living with shooting a home invader, it's about the principal not the property. Shoot them, to hell with a warning shot. It takes a damn coward and a loser punk to steal from someone anyway. I wish someone would break into my home. I guarantee that shit would stop.

and you might be the story of someone who fired a warning shot then the intruder shot and killed you
yes, shooting someone is horrible, but when someone breaks into your home, you don't know if they are armed and you don't know their intentions,
the intruder could be a crack head that is ready to kill to get that next fix
no self defense instructor will teach you to fire a warning shot, and cops surely don't do it
you certainly have not had any training

My point is, think before you shoot.

Zimmerman in Florida thought he was in the right too (so did the cops at first). Even if he is found not guilty, his life has been changed forever, and not in a good way.

You could live with shooting someone if you were in imminent danger (no way out). But if you shot and killed someone's unarmed kid/spouse, it would be a hard thing to live with.

Don't get caught up in "what if" situations discussed here. Do the right thing. Maybe the person(s) saying they would shoot first and ask questions later, would NOT in reality.
