Who in the hell even said they get government assistance? I am 22 years of age and am raising 3 kids and I DO NOT USE GOV'T HELP!! Not everyone that is young and has kids uses that! And anyway, I pay taxes as well, so even if I decided to get food stamps or something, wouldn't I just be using money the gov't took from me? Stop b*tching people. Thats all everyone does these days. We all know who is REALLY responsible for our countries growing debt (starts with an I and ends with LLIGALS).
Just wondering

How proud "Grandma" must be.
Full custody of the grandchild? She gets a chance to raise another drain on society?
My thoughts exactly. 17 years old with 1 child and one on the way. How old is the grandmother 33?? The cycle just continues. Maybe if the 17 year old got a job she wouldn't have time to get pregnant!!!

ask yourself this question. Why does the Mom not have custody? Could it be that our DFACS system is just too harsh? yes of course. way to go DFACS. Yall win another time. While everyone suffers. Nobody has even said why the MOm doesn't have custody. What is she too young? whoops....is that illegal? unless there is something really wrong with her, I don't buy it.
Your blaming DFACS for being too tough? Your kidding right. Don't you think you see a pattern with this girl - pregnant by 15 or 16, in jail by 17, pregnant again by 17, steals her own child (doesn't even know it needs to be medicated) and you blame DFACS? The only problem with DFACS is they don't have the power to remove this child from any blood relative in hopes that it could go to a good home and avoid the same cycle that obviously exists in their family. The grandmother of this child didn't exactly do a stellar job with the daughter and now she is going to be raising two more children. The odds are not in the favor of these children if they stay in this environment.

I agree with all on the post that say forced tube tying for this girl. Otherwise, my god with her stupidity on how she keeps getting in "trouble" she is well on her way to a professional football team.

I read everyone comments, but there is a big issues. This young black lady is part of a terrible cycle. Instead of judging and throwing her in jail, there are more issues of why??? Our foundation start from home...home is where you start from. I know that her mother have custody of her son but go back from birth and ask what happen and how is this young lady going to come out of this and be a good mother to her children. Jail doesn't teach, it punish.

Oh --- sure that it had nothing to do with a fatherless family, or poor parenting with a total lack of discipline. So .... where else should we look?

Until such time as parents -- both mother and father -- are held financially liable for their kid's (under 18) behavior -- including truancy, we are going to continue to see innocents brought into this world with ZERO CHANCE. Where is the father of this child? How much of a financial contribution is he being forced to make for this child's welfare? Where is the disgust from the local community?

That little boy -- unless taken out of the environment he is in at present, will end up on the street with the same void of values his mother has demonstrated -- and at best, in a state prison -- at worst, a coffin!

I was with you all the way up to the last sentence...

You have a great point. And I know you would like to focus your hatred/anger somewhere but think about this...

The war is costing TRILLIONS of dollars of debt... That is not money going toward immigrants.

Like you, I don't have a major problem with my money going towards people who can't afford things (not on a permanent basis) but what I really have a problem with is my money making politicians extremely rich.

Why do people not focus on this ?

Always wanted children wrote:
I've wanted children all my life and have none. And I have to look at this teenage mother, just out of jail, and pregnant again. I agree ... FORCED BIRTH CONTROL!!!! I'm paying for children whose faces I've never even seen and I'm tired of it. Babie deserve better than to live like this. In most instances they will grow up the same way. It breaks my heart. Want to bet she'll have 3 more before the age of 22???????
You're absolutely right! But, it is against the law to force birth control on anyone. Therefore, unless someone can talk this girl into getting her tubes tied, burned,cut...etc....have the uterus removed...then she will probably have three more before the age of 22! The sad part is they showed her picture on the news and she looks *special*. So where is the social worker and what can they do to try and get this girl to not have anymore babies.

This is truly a sad situation!

I thought it was against the law to try and force birth control/sterilization on someone?

First all and most importantly, it always begins in the home. Its alot of issues here that people are passing Real Judgments on. I want the child & the mother to be safe. Things happen for a reason. We don't know the whole story. It's a reason why these chain of events took place. I really wish these places could be used for people to form opinions, yet offer solutions to the problem. Even if she did come from a stable home the senario could still ring true. This is a problem and as adults and as a community, regardless if you have kids or not, should want change among us. I am a young single parent. I didn't hv my child @ 17 but I know it was hard. I just hope we understand that no journey in life is a universal fit....We have to grow out of and grow into who we are...Its called learning...Be a teacher to those around you whom will listen. To the ones who cant hear you or won't hear you...Lead by example...That's called rendering solutions and not being judgmental, but acting on your concerns....Lil Mama
