I did not have an opportunity to wear them while I was at college, but while in a temporary job I was able to buy my own directoire knickers.
Later when I married, my wife and I both wore directoires until tights came into fashion. Then I continued to wear them while my wife chose panties.
I am now in knickers for fifty years. My wife knows the ideal present for special occasions. our family knows and some of the neighbours know that I wear knickers, and the doctor knows, but after fifty years in comfortable directoire knickers I do not care who knows. And I don't think I will ever change from them.
