Hi Sage,
I logged on and watched the video and a few things came to mind. First, the officers separated, usual police procedure, one comes to the driver's side and the other to the passenger's side. It happens very quickly, and whether the pastor saw the officer on the passenger's side is questionable at best, and if he did not, then he was murdered because he panicked and drove off when rapidly approached by the officers who were in plain clothes. He is dead now so he can not defend himself and say why he was afraid and backed up so quickly, and even if he even saw the second officer who approached him on his blind side or even recognized the men as police officers. Can you tell me when the officer fired? Was it after the vehicle was pointed away from the officers and no longer a threat or when the vehicle initially moved? The vehicle was searched and they found nothing. Does this mean any person who comes in contact with a person of interest risks his or her life? How about social workers? Child protective service people, counselors, all I saw was a man in fear of his life try to get away from a bad situation and paid for it with his life? They saw the vehicle, did they not run his plates? Did they know he was not a hard core felon, but just a minister who loved and God? Maybe he was already backing up and moving when the officers approached his car in a rapid fashion and frightened him so he stepped on the accelerator. You point out he had just been in a bad area of town so he had every right to be afraid he would be robbed or beat up or worse. I guess he got the worse answer and you know, as a pastor he probably forgave the man who shot him while he drove away. he was probably thinking of his wife and children while he died in the hospital. I am sure he is with his Lord now, and hopes we can gain some knowledge of benefit through his death. Now me, I will go back online and offer my condolences to his wife and if they have a love fund set up for him I would greatly appreciate someone posting it here, thanks.
If only the world was as simple as you would like to make it.

No, I don't know when the shots were fired. The video is of poor quality and it would irresponsible for any of us to draw conclusions from the poor quality video we have access to online.

Do I know if they ran his tag?? No. I do not. What I DO KNOW is that even if they ran his tag, all it would have told them was the name of the vehicle's owner, the address of the owner, and the insurance status of the vehicle. I'm sorry to inform you of this, but when you run someone's tag, the info you get back doesn't include "This is a pastor, you shouldn't investigate him for anything, because pastors never, ever do anything wrong. If you think he's up to no good, you're wrong."

Instead of blaming the cops who were almost run over by this pastor, why aren't you asking questions of the crack dealing crack whore who was in the car with the pastor?? She's the reason the cops were following them!

Sage sir,
With all respect the girl is a red herring and you know it. I watched Dub's video link and it was great. Now as to the lady in question, who knows, really? The pastor cannot answer us, so for me, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and may he rest in peace. My Daddy taught me better than to insult a man who cannot defend himself. Oh, and Dub, thank you, I will follow up on the link Monday. May God's peace be given to all who need it.

There you go again, throwing around catch phrases and sound bytes. The girl is a "red herring?" No, not quite, idiot. If she was a "red herring" that would mean the cops were out to get the preacher. Cut the crap and stick to the FACTS! She was a crack dealer. The cops were after her. She was riding around town with the preacher. When the cops tried to investigate his involvement, he tried to run them down.

I noticed you didn't have a "witty" comeback for how I pointed out your stupid comment about running the preacher's tag.

Stick to the facts, or I'll continue to make you look stupid!

Once again someone on here who cannot make a point without sounding like an arrogant blowhard. Make your point and then see what others think. If they disagree with you why do you have to try to demean them?

You can trust all cops. They are devoted public servants. I would like to come to your house tonight and prove my point.

Please post your address .....and leave your bedroom window open.

Come on Dub. You are just arguing to be arguing.
Look at what Sage says to a guy who is trying to be nice. The guy says "sir' and "thank you'. Does he really deserve to be called "stupid"?

I guess I have tired of you holding yourself to different standards than you hold others. You are the first to insult and degrade, however you have the audacity to call someone else on it. But we have come to expect that from you, so no surprise.

I'm sorry, you didn't just refer to someone as an arrogant blowhard? You should be worried someone is using your name to post.

Sage sir, please get yourself some attention, you could have a heart attack or develop serious physical problems with your emotional rants. If you have a heart attack and die then we would be lost without your keen sense of guidance and wisdom. The fairness of your posts are obvious as well as your wisdom which rivals Solomon. My good friend is a peace officer, and he is such a good man everyone in town likes and respects him. I am sure you are a well loved man, though probably in a different way. As far as making people look "stupid", sir, all who read your well thought out, kind, and extraordinary posts, can easily deduce the nature of your personality and draw their own conclusions. Your posts teach us all, and we learn Georgia is indeed blessed.

"A red herring is an idiom referring to a device which intends to divert the audience from the truth or an item of significance."
