old school days

Hey Class of '69, I really enjoyed being in your school even though for only one year as a junior! Loved those frito chili pies at football & basketball, the valentine's school party, and jr/sr prom. Loved the time we triple dated to see Dr Zhivago movie - honestly, it was a school teacher's suggestion!
Loved the morning flag raising, loved the fun- poking at teachers. I think some of them enjoyed it too. Loved the physics class field trips. Loved typing class. Loved those old-time $1.25 haircuts! And, when the Baptist church had that long revival, seemed like about 2 weeks or more, the whole town was blessed. Even the school officials allowed the preacher to speak to school in school gym! Loved spring time in Laverne.

More info supplemental to first comment...I believe Buffalo was the closest place to go for the Movie. I think the valentine party was called "Sweetheart" party or something similar. Ronnie was one of my great friends...would like to get back in touch with him. Even though he did get the blame and the whole class received the lecture about the wrong & disrespect for calling another teacher by her first name. Those were the greatest times. Friends, and fun!

Does the town still have Jayne Jayroe Blvd? Laverne should be very proud of her, Miss America 1967!
