I have a condition passed down from my mom where our joints stay inflamed all the time with little relief. Does anyone know of a Dr. in the Laurel, Hattiesburg area that is not afraid to write pain meds liberally? These things WERE made to help ppl like me.. Any info would be helpful, thank you..

If you have a joint condition try the Laurel Bone and Joint clinic in Laurel, MS. I'm sure they can help. I'm curious as to why you want to know if a doctor is "liberal" with writing pain meds, why should that matter if you have a serious condition? I see that you are from Tenn. Hopefully, your not doctor shopping and if your not then I apologize. Anyway just google the clinic and get the number to set up an appointment. I've never been but sounds like the logical place to go for a joint condition, assuming that you are serious.

I'd second Laurel Bone and Joint clinic for any Real condition but no one in Laurel is going to write out anything liberally. Somebody may do it once after three or four visits but any more than once would be a stretch.

Don't know if the poster is doctor shopping of not. I've had doctors write me up pain meds when I was in moderate pain and didn't want them. I didn't even take them. Another time I took my father to an Emergency Room and two doctors total blew him off as a wacky pill head. Never mind we were decently dressed, It was 5am on Tuesday and I had to hold him up. They act as if we crawled out of a cardboard box with a sign begging for money.

I was about to go off on them when I pointed out he was bleeding they woke up from their BS and apologized. Had it been internal they would have kept making attempts to send us on our way. Had people in medical community tell I don't understand how many hit them up for drugs. No, they don't understand how quickly they said get out, we can't do nothing for you in an empty ER. Made zero initial effort.

since my first post, i have found a Dr. who writes what works and not what is "traditional" There is a big difference in what works and what is supposed to work..

Why would you come all the way from Tennessee to get someone to write a precription for pain meds. That does not make much sense to me.

Even if the person who posted this is addicted to pills, the person who called them a pill head is arrogant and you will fall on your face and have to eat those words. God wants us to love all people. Especially addicts. You never really know what a person is going through. Always show love!

I suffer from spinal stenosis and i think it a shame that junkies have ruined it for people who are truly ill. And to the one who call this person a pill head you have NO CLUE what chronic pain is like..but keep on judging people and one day you will. Karma will come back to bite you.

Congrats.......People dont realize how easy it is to get addicted to this stuff........and some Dr.'s hand it out like candy. Been to two 2 funerals in the last two years...because of this stuff. Its avery sensitive issue and people get very irate when you tell them the truth ........Good Luck! Sounds like youve been to hell and back and know only too well the dangers of this crap.

There is a young doctor who pulls teeth in St. Johnsbury, VT and prescribes 30 lorcet with 2 refills like he is passing out candy. Look for the big medical building at the end of Prospect St. and he is on the top floor, left office. The DEA probably got him by now.

I am being chastized for needing the meds. I had a tree fall on me while landscaping and it broke three ribs and a back problem all the time. This happened about seven years ago!! Thanks for listening.

What is wrong with doctor's? I have had chronic back pain since 1996. I was in an accident back in 1996. I am not a "Dope Head" or "Junkie". I will not take "street drugs" or go to different doctor's.
My Dr. is afraid to write prescription's for pain med.
I thought doctor's were supposed to help people.
I have had MRI's, X-ray's and Cat Scan's proving the L-1 and L-2 are injured.
Why do some people that need help don't get it because of other people that have abused their meds?
I should not be judged by what other's do.
My doctor did give me 1 prescription but refuses to refill. I only took it when pain was unbearable.
I wish I knew a doctor in my area that understood my pain and he/she would know that I do not abuse meds. So that I can become functional again.
