Prince used to go to my school and every day i saw him he was really nice and had a chilled laid back personality. It was never about the freakin money why would a parent tell a child to go get killed for money. He lived in a very nice part of town so money is definetly not the issue. the day that he died our school was filled with grief even people that didnt know him cried for him i know i cried myself to sleep the day i found out. All you people that said thats what he gets you all are probably just some coldhearted evil bastards because god forbid if it were your child then you know it would matter to you. on the other hand everyone who does care and feel sorry then may god bless you all and thank you for the blessings and support through this tragic event. You are coorect in saying that anyone who has stated that he "got what he derserved" is indeed sick. May God continue to support you and your class mates during this horrible time. Prince will always be with you all in your heart and mind. His parents have to spend the rest of their life grasping on for life as they try to recieve some resolution on their son's death. I also pray that the conductor will also be able to function day in and day out as he/she tries to block the terrible imagine from his mind. To see something so tragic is an everlasting effect. The conductor was not at fault. I am sure he/she is also grieving. Prince's death is tragic for all concerned.

This was not a child, but a young man with a furture inhead of him. Obviously, you all do not know the facts and therefore should not make statements of ignoracy. If someone is laying on the tracks and do not give a respose, obviously something else is in play. Have sympathy for his family and friends and stop your unjust comments. This could be your child, family member of friend. People lets starting thinking before reacting to something you know nothing about. Everything is not always about money, and money does not replace mourning.

Are their lives so pathetic that they hung solely on the life of a child? Geesh. Life goes on. Guess what? We ALL die at some point in our lives.

Or parents, siblings, or friends, for that matter. I can't imagine what your eulogy would sound like. "Guess what? We ALL die at some point in our lives." Yikes.

Do you think the parents will even think about the fact that their child caused the engineer and conductor of the train to have this incident engrained into their heads for the rest of their lives? I doubt it. Enjoy your settlement and tip your wait staff. You should go to HELL!!!!!

I agree with you 100%!! carmenforu wrote: This is sad and unfortunate for all parties concern. Children do dumb things. That's a part of childhood. My heart goes out to the parents and family that have lost their child. Regardless as to what the reason for death is, it doesn't ease the pain any less. To assume the parents will request a settlement is presumptuous. The news media nor the children saw anything. What the media has not stated is that he was found on the tracks by a friend as they were walking to school. So I have my doubts that the conductor nor engineer has the actual accident engraved in their head. One can only imagine this horrific accident. His parents have the horrible image of their son being slaughtered by the train engraved in their minds forever. Knowing that their son is gone forever. Do not mistaken my views. I have empathy for both the conductor and engineer. They are effected by this horrific accident as well. Yes, they will be badgered and interrogated as the investigation proceeds. However if they don't do drugs than the drug test is the least of their concern. Once again the media has proven their lack of facts, and citizens have proved their lack of intelligence. There is always someone, lurking and gossiping misinformation. I wish only the best for both the conductor and engineer concerning their careers. So, the answer to your question...Yes regardless as to what the outcome is, this family will miss their child. What a stupid question to ask.

If a lawsuit is forthcoming, the railroad's attorneys will convince them that it is cheaper for them to settle out of court. Remember, some stupid lady burned her dumb self with coffee from McDonalds and parlayed that into quite a windfall of cash. Its the American way. They tried to sue and got ZERO!
