My heart goes out to the parents and family that have lost their child. Regardless as to what the reason for death is, it doesn't ease the pain any less.

The news media nor the children saw anything. What the media has not stated is that he was found on the tracks by a friend as they were walking to school. So I have my doubts that the conductor nor engineer has the actual accident engraved in their head. One can only imagine this horrific accident.
His parents have the horrible image of their son being slaughtered by the train engraved in their minds forever. Knowing that their son is gone forever.
Do not mistaken my views. I have empathy for both the conductor and engineer. They are effected by this horrific accident as well. Yes, they will be badgered and interrogated as the investigation proceeds. However if they don't do drugs than the drug test is the least of their concern.
Once again the media has proven their lack of facts, and citizens have proved their lack of intelligence.
There is always someone, lurking and gossiping misinformation.
I wish only the best for both the conductor and engineer concerning their careers.
So, the answer to your question...Yes regardless as to what the outcome is, this family will miss their child.
