I am from Laurel too and I too Love this little town, but I would like to see Laurel people take pride in this little town, its sad how some bad apples spoil the who bushel.

How can we make Laurel a better place to live and raise a family.

#1 we need to take pride in our selves and clean up the town for our children
#2 Stop protecting the Drugs and the dealers
#3 Get rid of the perverts that hurt our children

Not all Seely's are bad just a few who don't care that they are making all look bad.
Mearl and Grandma Seeley are good people and so was Paster Grandpa Clrance Seely and Brother Ed.
These are God fearing Seelys
Both Ed and his father would roll over in their graves if they new that his family was acting like this.
You Seely off springs you where all raised in church.
Stop worring your grandmother Jenette

Brother Ed hit the jackpot by banging all the women with strange hair at his church. That is the real reason he became a minister. He could not attract the younger stuff anymore so he went for a sure thing.

WOW, ya'll need to grow up, stop talkin' bout it in this little chat room thing and go out and do something bout it.
Maybe if we had better CLEAN cops in Laurel it'd be a different story.
Like Brad Spurlock, DIRTY cop and if there wasn't dirty cops in Laurel, there wouldn't be alot of shit goin on.

ok laurel is a good place but a bad one to all the drugs and stupid stuff here make it very hard to deal with at times all these kids getting knocked up and druged up and its a lot of drama and yes i live in laurel and i love it but there needs to be a park for kids to get away and have fun insted of turning to drugs for help from family probs. ect. you have to know how they feel being bored trying bad things because its easy to get so everyone i think laurel would be better with a park and less drugs...

even if Laurel had a park the kids would tear it up and most would deal drugs at the park but since we have no cops in Laurel they will get away with it. Why do we tax payers pay for the town to have Brad when we only see him once or twice a month

Why the cheap shot? We all know Brad Spurlock isn't a dirty cop. He's a stand up guy that must of either taken you to jail or more than likely gave you a break and pissed you off. I would say if you moved out of laurel alot of shit would stop.

I myself have lived in Laurel for many years now.Not born here.I moved here with my family when i was 19.I grew up near INDIANAPOLIS in a small town just like this one..I loved it there too.Everybody knew everybody. The man on the other side of town would know how long you were in town that day..SAME HERE..its a small town but a great town.Everybody knows everybody..Its not that the town is bad..We have some bad people in it just like every town in this world. Its only talked about more here because small mined people have to talk about every one else. There is nothing to do in this town. And most of the teenagers here have learned what they know from their own parents.Chrildren learn what they live..We as parents need to remember that.Teach the kids better,Give them something to do.YES,we do need a park here for the kids.1 and 2 years olds wanna play not do drugs. My old town had a park..A ball park for kids to run down and get a team together and play until dark..Yes my old town also had Drugs.but we didnt hear about it as bad as you do here because it was done in private..nothing about this town is private.Because everybody wants to talk..So stop the talking and lets put some plans to work to change this small but wonderful town.Because it is our home.Clean things up. but most of all people.Clean your mouths up..We all have to come together here to make this town a place where people wanna come.I love Laurel and most of the people in it.those i dont love i pray for every nite. And i hate no one.

And as for putting down all the business and people who work in them like you all have done on other post.Lets stop that too. They are having a hard time right now with the everything just like you are.At least those people are working,Thats more then i can say for most of the town.I know everything is tuff right now for all.But that is more reason to pull together. We need to help each other out.If we dont this small town WILL go under.I myself am out of work.I look everyday.I dont let that get me down.I know that there is something out there.I know because i think POSITIVE.Thats what this town needs.POSITIVE THINKING AND POSITIVE DOING.Its not to late yet.Laurel used to be a very popular town and can be again.ITS UP TO YOU..

Name of the post is: Making Laurel a better Place.

Drugs have taken over the town. Drugs have destroyed children's lives, some parents do drugs. Drugs have destroyed good families. And how many policemen does Laurel employ? How many police cars does Laurel own? There are surveillance cameras pointing in many directions. Everyone knows on a quiet summers night one can hear across town. How many people in Laurel have died in recent years from drugs? It seems plain to me the police aren't doing their jobs. Why? I really don't know or understand. It's really sad for everyone who lives in what use to be a beautiful town.

I seen your post and asked brad about this topix. As I thought he knows about the drugs, but can't do anything until someone helps. The drugies have more rights than the police so they are protected. He also said that his department has made at least 10 drug related arrests in the past 2yrs. He said everyone is scared of helping, the don't want to be a "narc". as far as the cars grow up, one car was paid for with a grant and didn't cost the town anything.

I am absolutely certain Brad knows every druggie in town. I am also pretty sure he knows who the sellers are. Ever heard of probable cause Brad? SO thats 5 arrests each year in two years time. Gosh shall we count the deaths in the same two years time? "The drugies have more rights than the police so they are protected." Not everyone from Laurel is stupid and will not buy these poor excuses. If you pull someone over and you have probable cause that they may be on drugs you can and other policemen (not from Laurel) do take them to the hospital to be tested. Fact! "As I thought he knows about the drugs, but can't do anything until someone helps. The Laurel police are being paid to HELP! Brad should keep in mind this is the pace his children will grow up. Not just Brad should keep this in mind the whole town should keep this in mind if something isn't done. I am not trying to be negative, honetly. I am just telling it as I see it and how many people are seeing it.

No I believe you are seeing it as a fool sees it. These are not state police or county being pricks. These are police officers that are part time and pull people over that they have probable cause to pull over, other than license plate lights and profiling. If that was happening then you would be crying harrassment. If you want to count, count the ones that od on legal drugs that they have gotten from dr's. All of them. How does he stop that mr. answer guy and on top of that most of the od victims don't even drive.

Ok I dont like being called a fool so, how about this your right there is NO hope for making Laurel a better place for our children or anyone to live. One question though...Brad isn't being paid for full time? And your calling the state police and the country officers pricks for trying to do their job? For trying to make a difference? ALso maybe being the fool I am, but since when did Meth become legally prescribed? Quote "All of them" Yes this my last post. My foolish thoughts are telling me your either a druggie or a seller who doesnt want to be caught or your one of the town cops trying to defnd yourself? Good-bye smart man that does that have the answers and cares.

So you must be a police officer that cares. I don't remember anyone saying the od's were meth, maybe you know something the rest don't and just want to bash the Laurel Police, that you evidentlly don't like to much. Maybe if you know so much maybe you should be the help that Brad was talking about instead of keeping all the info to yourself. But maybe that's the plan to make them look bad for your own gradification.

Maybe I didnt make myself clear. I know I wasnt going to post again but your the negative one whoever you are. I am not a cop nor am I a druggie. I am a simple laurelite that loves this town and the families in it. I actually like Brad, I watched him gorw up, play basketall. Here is why I am so...disturbed. Ya you can see where people call these dope heads losers and pieces of shit ect. But if you look at their parents. THey came from good familys. This means no ones safe anymore. Nomatter how well you raise your child. I love Laurel, I grew up in town. I wont name names because these parents and family's have been hurt enough by the loss of their children. I am saying Brad's name because he IS the town marshall and he IS the one responsible for stopping the drugs in this town. Yes people should narc! Absolutely! I just know too many people have died. And these people were loved by someone.(maybe only by their families, who knows) The people were good people before the drugs! No family can say they are immune anymore to someone in their family being addicted to drugs. I pray with all my heart..... Be a dick, be a narc, be whatever it takes to stop the beautiful people in this beautiful town from anymore death or pain.
