For those who wondered why Palestinians don't just declare statehood and move on, or for those who claim it's ALL in palestinian hands...

"Israeli ministers continued threatening to take unilateral measures if the Palestinian Authority (PA) declares statehood without a negotiated peace agreement.

According to Israeli sources, Benjamin Netanyahu's administration may even consider withdrawing from the Oslo Accords.

Israeli Minister of Environment Gilad Erian on Monday threatened to stop delivering taxes collected on behalf of the PA. He also threatened to erect more military checkpoints in the West Bank. "We will not allow the Palestinians to declare a state unilaterally."

Hey, Girl....You left this out. The fly in the ointment.....

>He urged the PLO Central Committee to move forward with its proposal, as well as seek international sanctions on Israel until it fulfills its obligations to remove or reroute the separation barrier as per the International Court of Justice's 2004 ruling on the wall's illegality. Once that decision is implemented, Barghouthi said, Palestinians should declare their state on the 1967 borders, which include Jerusalem.<

But isn't declaring statehood without a negotiated peace agreement a unilateral measure by the Palestinians? Why the criticizing tone of Israel's warning to act the same way?

Do you believe, NaNa, that such a move against the wishes of the Israeli sovereign, eschewing the negotiation route, is going to promote the peace and stability of the region or rather tear a wider gap between Israel and the Palestinian authority and send us into a greater limbo?

As I said before, the Palestinians have been making all the bad choices throughout history which led them to their current state. I have a strong feeling yet another mistake, a grave one, is about to be made.

I hereby call on both the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority to return to the negotiation table and end this conflict once and for all, via proper negotiations and agreement.

my house will be full of Palestinian Muslims this Christmas, as most. A few travelling to the states for Both Thanksgiving and Christmas and to celebrate our new arrival. Funny thing, my sisters even come to church with me:)
The ones travelling- the same who took me personally to Bethlehem, know the Church of the Nativity and all of its history passionately, and read an entire sura about the Virgin Mary in THEIR holy book.
As for your confusion as to how a good Catholic girl could possibly support Palestinian savages, that's easy.
