Yes thats right union people again, the list goes on and on if you look at it I guess I was wrong in saying some things are handled by union people. How about most things are ? I just read your post there union proud so I will give you some things to think about.

I doubt that most things are touched by unions. 89% of the Nations work force is NOT union, hence I doubt the "all things union" non sense. If the roads are made by union people, that would definately explain why they are in such poor condition. It would also explain why they never seem to finish them. Come to think of it, when someone drives down those roads and sees 4 or 5 guys standing around and one guy working, that proves that yes, they are union indeed. Our deliveries at our company are made by non union drivers and my toilet paper....well I find it fitting that if indeed it is produced by union workers, then wiping up is the only thing that product would be good for. Also, I have well water, and I use solar stored power for my electricity. Please take note of this observation, if you would put as much energy into your job as you do into your trivial posts, you may find that you could actually function without the protection of a union as well.

I wasn't union, and they are so strong that the entire building closed down and they were all fired in 2000. What good did it do them?

Membership should be a choice, and unfortunately in PA and other states, like Michigan it is not.

Coincidence that all new auto plants are located in right to work states?

You can barely live on 60k a year? You're kidding, aren't you?
What type of secondary education do auto workers have that should garner them more than say someone working in any other kind of factory that is non union?
A first year teacher makes about $30k a year, with a 4 year degree. A factory worker deserves twice that?

Go to yahoo finance, you can find out what any officer of any public company makes. Its public record. I personally don't care.
Why are people that work for non union auto makers like Hyundai and Honda perfectly happy and have repeatedly turned down union representation?
Why is union membership dwindling and many companies have stated flat out that if their workers unionize, they shut down and move overseas? I know of companies that have done exactly that.
I could put you and a hundred teachers in that factory and you couldn`t bake a cake, let alone build a car. Secondary education is the only prerequisite for having livable wages? Is this George Bush or non-union know it all speaking. What do you do for a living? Why you so bitter?
Oh and by the way i`m a union engineer with a bacholers degree. I guess you non-unioners call that secondary education right?
They will be fired for trying to organize! Maybe not right away but fired in due time.
And Toyota has many UNION shops in this country, look it up as you like to say.
You avoid all points that shoot down your ridiculous postings, and try to scew facts. Not working on BIG city mentality in A real union town CHICAGO!

What you think you gotta be union to be a slacker? Union guys get fired everyday here in Chicago for slacking off. And don`t even try telling me your 100% working at all times at your job. I`m sure you got time to sit at the water bottle and discuss last nights game. If you say different your a liar.

I would attempt a response to your post however I have yet to understand the first two or three lines. Fortunately we in Pennsylvani have not been hit to hard by illegal immigration and the bilingual state. Perhaps you may want to have an English teacher proof read your post next time.

I have worked both union closed shops, as well as open shops. Given a choice I avoided the union like a plague.

Union is ok in principle, problem is the union leadership. They and their henchmen tend control how and what to think.

When the members are on strike, they still collect their fat checks, and bennies. If they had any balls they would forgo their salaries until the strike is over. I know of one transit union in Baltimore that refuse to open their books to members, so the membership would know how much money they suck in, and how good they are at wasting it.

Further, the union will spend every nickel of the members to defend the lazy and incompetent, instead of throwing the bum out. Yet at the same time prevent rewarding the highly competent, diligent workers.

It would generally benefit the union if the union leadership gets their arrogant heads out of their butts.

At least you think you have knowledge of unions. Sure there are some guys that are lazy. But thats union and non-union. And what makes you union bashers think union slackers can`t be fired? I`ve seen many so called bad eggs get there walking papers.
I will agree that some union officials are arrogant, but aren`t some bosses you`ve worked for? Give anyone too much power and it may go to their heads, union or not come on.
I do appreciate an intelligent debate, most of these others just want to argue for arguements sake.

Since you seem to believe others around you are the morons, do you possibly think its not all those around you and it might be you yourself?
