(1) Sad how other countries around the world deal the the safe storage of High Level Waste, but this country''s Yucca Mountain facility is not available because of politics and scare tactics by environmentalists.(2) The cost per kilowatthour issue needs clarification. You're talking about large "baseload" nuclear power plants which provide electricity 24-7-365 until refueling and maintenance outages are required, versus small-scale renewable energy projects. Yes, we need renewable energy. But renewable energy will never be able to meet the constant "baseload" demands for electricity that "baseload" power plants provide. Keep renewable projects coming, keep energy conservation coming, but let's also keep "baseload" power plants in the mix, otherwise we will have shortages of constant sources of electricity.
