I was thinking about applying for a job with Zappos, but was told that after you interview for the job, you are taken to human resources to ask if you are a partier or not. If you don't drink or are not willing to drink (and maybe even do other things), the company won't hire. I know of one girl who did interview for a job in hr and they ask her how she felt about drinking during the work day and if she would mind if her coworker drank. Does anyone know if this is true.

I personally know of two HR professionals who were interviewed at Zappos. Both of them were asked how they felt about drinking at work. When they expressed concern about the liability issues, they were both told that they would not fit in the culture. I know people who work there who say that supervisors hold "happy hour" for employees and give them liquor. They have parties all the time.
