Vegas has got to be the worst city in America, but if these fools in control (casinos) would actually put (real) money into this city, it would be the best!! Seriously, how many other cities see the amount of money our city sees? Greedy people, mean crappy city!!!

I agree with you. We've been here 10 years and it's gotten bad. People are so rude, dumb and act like vacationing tourists. As "Happy Time" said, no moral values.

What worries me is that the housing boom was fueled by temporary construction jobs that are all gone now. People that bought houses in the last 4 years or so are really screwed.

Add to that the fact that 37% of the kids do not graduate from High School. 37%!!! That's a Clark County School District number.

I think there are real problems for this town down the road. We are out of here when our son finishes HS.

Take care

You could put your kid in the Meadows School in Summerlin. It's small, private, and most of their grads attend graduate or professional prep colleges and finish.

He is in the Advanced Technologies Academy (Magnet school). It's a good school, good program, very good staff. He enjoys it and is doing very well. We looked at Meadows. That place is incredible. Everyone of those kids will be rocket scientists or better some day.

Thanks

I've lived around the whole country and I have to say I agree. This town is a cesspool of transients, crackheads, tweakers, thugs, show-offs, swindlers, con-artists, etc. etc. Not to mention the stench, the litter, the number of car accidents, the number of jobsite accidents, the number of people losing their homes. The only lake is drying up, and nobody seems to care. And to think I thought Denver was a trashy town.

Thank you, I really starting thinking I was the only one who felt this way. Mark my words, this town will soon be known as the arm pit of the country. It will be like TJ is too Mexico. Anyway, I am going to move out, but it just seems like everyone gets stuck here.

oh yeah, las vegas really sucks! i moved here last year and am only waiting for my kid to graduate high school to go back to L.A. the crime, the collisions !! i say collisions because they are not accidents, these goons and meatheads , especially trucks, cause so many of these collisions. UNLV cant keep enrollment up because this city doesnt value education, only booze, strip joints, and cigarettes are highly valued! do not move here , think long and hard if you have a family, if single, you can pack up and split in a hurry! DO NOT MOVE HERE FOLKS!!

I could not have said it better, and if you don't agree, think about this. When was the last time you heard Las Vegas on the top of the list for education, except the worst of list. If you think, what has that got to do with anything, think of this. We have more money flowing into this city then some small countries, so why the hell would we not have some of the best schools in the country!!! Ummm, cause they (people in charge) keep it for themselves. We should have the best schools, parks, freeways, almost everything if they were not the greediest people on the planet. So think about that before you move here.

The 37% non-graduation rate is due to the transiency of parents who can't get their act together. If you couldn't cut it in California, Minnesota or wherever, your problems will follow you here. If you become part of your community instead of the perpetual whining, you would vote out incumbants in the pockets of the gaming industry, do volunteer work for a cause you believe in, and further your own education. UNLV's enrollment has risen every year by people who don't settle for the menial jobs that brought them to Las Vegas in the first place. If you're not part of the solution..., well you know the rest.

Thank you Stephanie. All these people want to do is prove how bad vegas is. And moving from LA here and talking about how bad traffic is here? Are you kidding? I grew up in vegas, went to elementary, middle and highschool here. Graduated with honors and went on to the Air Force and Now a college graduate. So dont blame las vegas for everything that is going on for you. Take a look in the mirror. Get out and do some community service, if you have children dont let them get out of control and blame "the big bad las vegas"
for all the problems.
True Vegas is build on sex, alcohol, and all that comes with it. This hasnt happened over night. Where did you think you were moving to? Montana?
Idaho? Utah?

Ok, that sounds great about being part of the solution, but why do we need one if it is so great to live here. And as for the sex, gambling, etc.. Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas, and gambling is all over the country, but you don't here them having the same problems. As for the comment about trying to change everything by voting people in that are going to go against everything vegas, GOOD LUCK. The city is run by the casinos, and in case you haven't figured it out, THEY DON'T LET OTHERS WIN. The casinos made treats towards peoples jobs because there was a plan to raise casino tax, and trust me, it will never pass. All I am saying is vegas is a true American Wasteland, and it will get worse, much worse, so get out while you can, and do not move here. Oh, and I am so happy you made it leaving here, but even in the worst areas of the world, people still make it, but that doesn't make the area any better.

Oh and you might want to do a little research once in a while, cause vegas is on the top of almost every list in America, but it is more like the naughty-list.
