The only reason Toro became dean at Wichita State is because the first 3 choices said no and it was a second search. I have been there for several years and can say that she has caused nothing but problems internally for faculty, staff, and students. In fact several faculty members have left because of her. I think it will come to light shortly that she is a bad seed and I completely understand why they wanted her out of PR. I just hope they can get her out of Wichita before she does any more damage.
If Waded is anything like her, I hope for the sake of NMSU she does not become president.

Mr Mazzo I am not naive. I have every intention of calling you.
I realize that people change and the Waded I knew may not be the one I cared for many years ago.
Like I said before I am open to be convinced with reliable proof and witnesses. NMSU should do the same.
I will say something: that everything I have seen posted on the web about Waded Cruzado and Zulma Toro have been nothing but positive EXCEPT for what some people are saying in this thread. As you should know anything we say here is considered hearsay and not acceptable in any serious academic or legal forum.
I do appreciate your willingness to talk to me.
What really makes me question every negative comment about their performance in UPRM is that if their are true how come they both continue to be offered very high positions everywhere they go. For example Zulma Toro was named Dean for the College of Engineering at the University of New Haven in Connecticut, then dean of Wichita State's College of Engineering in 2005 Does that mean they were not able to substantiate any of the accusations. Most institutions do a very comprehensive search for their new administrators.
Are we saying that Most colleges in the USA just go and pick whoever happens to be available?

Toro-Ramos is already making waves at Wichita State.
There is a large mass of faculty and students unhappy about some recent events she allegedly brought about.

The dean sounds to act just like Waded. As they say, "birds of a feather...."
She screams at people. Fires good people. She says things in meetings and then totally "forgets" and denys she said them.Changes her story. She has no true emotion other than anger. She acts like she knows which "emotion" to use at the "right" time.
I have witnessed her ability to lie. She is far the worse and most abnormal person I have every worked for. Glad I left before she had me fired. Sad truth is .. when I started working for her I would have done anything for her.
She is NOT for the students. She only cares about her resume. WSU needs to rid themselves of her when her contract runs out in 2005. Then every university needs to NOT hire her. She needs to go back to Puerto Rico.

What have we done to you in Puerto Rico? We did our job in Puerto Rico compilating data and fighting against her and Cruzado. We closed the university for four days after a long year of using all the official venues to try to made them change their ways and mend their decissions. They used politicians to survive and after a year there was no other way to get rid of them (because they refuse to listen to the faculty) than to go on the first and only faculty strike. Toro competes for positions in different universities in the USA every year, send her somewhere else. There is no place for her at the University of Puerto Rico, she was fired by the board of Trustees after a year long scandal followed by the Puerto rican media and even politicians will not dare getting into the troubble of bringing her back to the institution.

Mr. Mazo:
and I'm doing you a great favor by calling MR.
Or, you do not remember kicking your girl out of your house because she got drunk one night? You don't remember who had to go and rescue that girl because she was getting into trouble because you did not pay ANY attention to her? That after you kicked her out of her house she had to stay at a friend's house because you would not let her in, nor get her stuff? That's the kind of good parent you are?
Let's see if I can make you or your kids remember???? who had to run out of her house because you almost killed her? who has to be on medicines for the rest of her life because you caused her epileptic attacks because of a beating you gave her while she was pregnant with one of your children? Do you remember now? or shall I keep talking? Cause I can keep talking forever "dear".
By all means tells us who you are and what else do you know because obviously we have been hearing only Mr. Mazzos side of the story. I would appreciate links and other information to corroborate your story.

Why are you talking about his now? Are you going to write a book and present it at Oprah's?

The Viceprovost that we know doesn't look like the epileptic victim of domestic abuse living and driving a car under the influence of medication. She is too smart to be victimized for more than a decade and I think that this discussion is becoming a questionable soap opera.

Just add alcoholic parents, corrupt politicians, a murder and homosexuality and you have a best seller.

Are you and "Know the facts" obsessed with Cruzado's personal life? If anyone wants to know if she misrepresented herself as a dedicated mother (begining of this discussion long time ago) ask Waded or Mazo, how to contact their siblings and ASK THEM. They are the ones who really know.

If crimes were committed and someone is interested in knowing about it, ask Cruzado or Mazo. Mr. Avellaneda, you said you were going to contact Mazo; now just contact Cruzado and her siblings and come to your own conclussions.

Supporters of Cruzado at NMSU should be happy for her because she got the position of President of Montana State University. Non-supporters of Cruzado should also be happy because they got rid of her.

If I were Cruzado I will be ashamed and worried about friends obssessed with her intimate life and disclosing what could be medical conditions and character weaknesses; who also keep discussing these matters publicly, creating her an image of victim that is not anything like her, and does her more damage than the idea that she could have misrepresented her relationship with her son in a video.

I don't support her but now that she is supposed to be perceived as a successful woman, you made me feel sorry and pity her.

If they really wanted to save money, they would fire all of the administration. In order to do that we would have to democratize the board of regents. The problem starts in the university system when the governor appoints people out of the oligarchy.
Once the administration is gone the political structure can be replaced with a parliamentary system. Then you would have true academician in charge of the university, instead of sycophants.
After taxes and grants, they would find out they don't need tuition. They university is there to serve the people.
