This fair has been going downhill for several years. Same old tired thing. Parking nightmare. "Where are the beheadings? Get them local politicians in line!" (Beheadings might be a money maker for the show organizers.)

Juried show? Looks like anything can get in these days. Too much junk.

However, it looks like the show organizers are scrambling to save the Renn Fair from going downhill. At least they are trying.

That's funny. I paid the 'whopping' extra $3 to park at Lynn yesterday. Two minute walk to the park. Our family had a great time.

Perhaps you weren't thinking with your dipstick.

Even if you have to walk a bit after parking, the RenFair is fairly inexpensive, provided that you don't buy a lot of food and drink while you are there. The RenFair was entertaining, affordable for most families, and it was a lot of fun. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Our family loved it and Thanks those who put in all the time and effort to make it a sucess. Its not a small process it gets bigger every year. We need more things like this for families to stay in LC and spend their dollars.

My wife and I have been hiding in a hole (figuratively speaking of course) in Alamogordo since we arrived there in 2004, and recently we've been making an effort to get out and see what the area has to offer.

The renaissance fair was a shining spectacle. While it may be small compared to some events elsewhere in the country, it certainly exceeded our expectations.

Parking was no problem for us, as we simply paid the paltry $5 to park in a lot across the street. The people all seemed to be very friendly and the costumes were fantastic. Almost all of the acts were top notch as well, though there was one juggling troupe which caused me to walk away shaking my head.(Not Jeffrey, who was quite good)

In regards to vendors, some of the best in the southwest were on hand. Surprisingly there were very few vendors selling mass produced anything. Almost every booth was filled with unique hand crafted works of art.

Having no point of reference for judging its growth, I can't say what direction its moving in, but I certainly plan to attend again next year.

Some people are never happy. The Renaissance fair is one of the few fairs that is actually well planned out and has some spectacular art. The food booths are not the typical whole enchilada/southern NM fair and rodeo we'll fry anything crap. Especially when you consider the small town feel this city has. Then they have parking and shuttles for those too cheap to pay for parking, and unless you are handicapped a little walk isn't going to kill you. Then again if it might perhaps you should start out with short walks more often.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Cancer

Mercury turning retro is offering you the chance to make sweeping and long-lasting changes to your life, and to clear the ground for some fertile growth in 2010. Lawyers and legal matters, debates, contract negotiations, partnership or other alliances, and joint ventures of any kind need attention. As a Cancerian you don't like endings, but you must now bring an end to any situation or relationship that is holding you back or has passed its sell-by date. Look forward, not back, if you want a glittering future.
