Congrats. Since you started teaching there has been a radical change in the system. For all the succesful women like yourslf I am quite grateful. But. Where are the male teachers? Why the exodus? Because the system has demonstrated in no uncertain terms that teaching is NOT a safe place for a male to be. Is it no policy to remove any male teacher whom a student complains about immediately without investigation...administrative whatever. How does he live? If the kid lied...who will know? No trial , judge or jury. And now, since you women have such a healthy sense of entitlement and hve organized into a powerful lobby....you have systematically removed any job security a male might have had.
You have stolen the stage through subterfuge. Don't you think the male kids in your classrooms feel the "class ceiling". I joke, but really, you've broken many hearts. You did it by not challenging the staus quo. By accepting the unfairness at REDWOOD...you have sabotaged their aspirations. Worry not, your fearless leader has a position for your male students. He even has a slogan for the enterprise....."the right war" So, good work teach. By capitalizing on sexual discrimination in the Marin public school system...you have secured the military some new recruits. In fact, maybe the recruiters that you allow on campus could use some help. Why don't you suggest some Names to the recruiter of your iffy students....you know, the ones who are not really rich. Like from CM, Larkspur. When I graduated in 1980, i remember Mike Raymond, my best friend from kindergarten suddenly going into the army...from CM? It seemed like he was high on something...really. They army made him a recruiter...he was so sold on the gig. There was no war at the time...I wonder if his enlistment ...with others...enabled Bush/Chehey to start the Iraq war. I lwonder if a subconscious feeling of being" left out" of the Redwood inner circle prompted him to join up. So good work teach...keep it up! Obama needs lotsa fresh meat to throw at the ready Taliban. Maybe if we can economically draft enough middle class kids ..y' know...give all survival jobs to foreigners...so only the upper middle class can float and send THEIR kids to Berkeley With the higher tuition now...I think it will work. That is, we have got to prevent a real draft which might affect the Redwood inner circle. Don't want Tiburon kids going away now do we? So by sabotaging the poorest boys at Redwood...you get more soldiers for Obama the Warmonger.... I get it. How clever. I s that what grownups do mommy? Obfuscate, excagerate, and compartmentalize reality into a predictable power structure...that kills the sons of my friends. repent |

Best math teacher I ever had was Lyle Fisher at Redwood.

I had Linda Tassano for math. She's kind, patient, understanding, and a really wonderful woman. I'm happy she's getting some recognition for her skill because math teachers are rarely celebrated!

by the way.
My sister began a "friendship" with one of the English Teachers at redwood when she was 16. She had just been rejected by a young male sub. she had a crush on. He did the right thing by rejecting my sisters advances. There was a vacuum, emotionally. This English teacher of the year filled that gap. Lat year my sister died of lung cancer. She had been living with this teacher since Before her graduation..."helping to grade papers". That is, my sister spent her entire adult life living in this teachers house. This teacher was and still is a smoker. My sister NEVER smoked. My brother stopped going to Redwood out of shame, All my friends in school referred to this teacher as a known...rhymes with bike . Sorry. So my brother got teased alot "Your sister is @#%$ with Ms.? HAHHHHHAAA" Ahhh.....sweet memories. I did not attend my sisters funeral Redwoods inner circle of silence. Loota pervs used to be at redwood. Google Redwood....teachers...stealing ...molesting Good work parent. Nice commitment. By the way I aced all math and logic, too. Red herrings to straw men so there |

I was fortunate enough to have Ms. Tassano my second year at Redwood High and will always remember how patient and dedicated she was to her students and their understanding of the material. She has a way of making sure that her students don't feel overwhelmed or dumb when they aren't understanding something. An amazing teacher and person!
