I have to question whether he was onto something that has not been revealed by the authorities. Many ppl report on the cartel, etc and don't get killed for it.

This has been going on for some time. Observers from outside can comment and probably escape unharmed. Not so for people there. Freedom of the press apparently means nothing in most of Mexico. You had best use another name to write a story and seclude yourself.

Mexico is a failed state. US should take over mexico, by force if necessary. Make it part of the US. US needs to expand its territory anyways. the mexicans arent going to do anything useful with their country. this will solve many issues at once.

The noble profession of being a father, a provider to a son and a wife. Following his passion of journalism and his ethic to keep the rest of us informed on the savage world of the organized crime, all to end up like a mere statistic. God Bless his soul and may he bring agonizing slow death to his slayers. Death to El Chapo.

IKt is absolutely insane that American new sources do not cover the viloence in Mexico. I tell my relatives that there are over 3,800 murders in Juarez since 1/1/08 including 100 womwn in 2009 and they think I am insane??? The government Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Reyes, McCain and others are so worried that the American people will react when they hear the type of persons the US is allowing to enter this country and ABC, NBC, ESPN and CBS all own major Spanish news outlets sp those jerks do not want to lose business that they do not tell the American people. If a person dies in Pakistan or the Sudan Brian Williams is all over it. He was all over NAFTA two years ago brodcasting to the American people about it's awesome value to Americans but he won't come close to El Paswo now and yet he has the time to play what he is on thirty rock??? This countries politicians and news outlets are as un American as you can get and still be called American!

what's going on in mexico is not only incredible it's extremely intriguing. what mexico needs are a few good and reliable "ghost reporters" who can report on the corruption, crime, crooked politicians, and stay anonymous. it's easier said than done but it would be awesome.
