It is encouraging the "Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Act" passed the House last week despite the LIES and homophobic HATE spewed forth by the Repugs. Unfortunately, the bill is attached to the DOD reauthorisation bill, which includes billions in pork for the unneeded and unwanted F-22 fighter jets.

Hate filled repressentative from Texas. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) saying that it would lead to Nazism, and the legalization of necrophilia, pedophilia, and bestiality! As the Colorado Independent commented: "assertions that the Act would protect pedophiles under the category of a sexual orientation were roundly dismissed as preposterous by legal and criminology analysts quoted at the Pulitizer Prize-winning PolitiFact.com . The site awarded the claim its special “Pants on Fire” designation, reserved for lies so outrageous there isn’t a shred of truth to be found."

At least two representatives (King of Iowa & Foxx of NC) claimed Shepard was not killed because of his sexual orientation....in DIRECT contradiction to the police reports!

I found the last paragraph "...I've never felt that I had to worry about being singled out over anything. We've got to learn more about this and spread the word." to be so at odds with the hate on the Topix forum pages.

I have had such a change of heart in the past few years by examining my own hypocracy and bigotry and being reviled at my own hate. After getting older and seeing people die - rich, poor, black, white, gay, straight, left, right - I realize the human spirit is not a prejudiced thing at all. Who has the right to judge, lest we be judged. This sad story is about the symbolism of hatred more than anything else and a person that was murdered for his lifestyle. Pretty simple and I'm glad I got off the hate bandwagon because it really has been a terrible load lifted off my shoulders. I don't know if I'm better for it in everyone's eyes, but I really have to worry about myself and that is a full time job. I don't have time to take everyone else's temperature although these threads challenge me every day. Peace and Love may not always win but I'd rather ride that car than one in the train of hatred, fear and doubt and self righteousness - otherwise known as the Hellbound Train.

All of you in the pro-sodomy crowd proclaim to be "tolerant" and "open-minded", and you accuse others of being close-minded and bigoted when their values are not in agreement with yours.

That being said, shouldn't YOU look in the mirror?

Are you afraid of your values and opinions being held up to close examination and critique?

PC Chavez is advocating that only opinions and questions that agree with her point of view be allowed to post on this website, dissenting opinions should be censored.

Sounds hitlerian to me.

Yes, my love, but I asked Henry to nix my posts (several of em). I'll do anything to keep kiddie porn off this website. This guy got pretty disgusting, and I believe it was for his own pleasure. There are other websites he can go to for that.

free speech does not mean no limitations on speech BTW and pornography is not always entitled to 1st amendment protections when the only purpose of the porn is prurient

<quoted text>what you are doing is pure republicanism: you are obfuscating the real issue ie "straight" boyz beating to death a queer boy simply because he was queer. As to your bs posting cite your source.
Republicanism? Can you define that?

Does it mean asking politically incorrect questions that you can't or won't answer?

it means taking a very real issue and turning it into pornography because dealing with the very real issue will make you confront your fears re: your own psyche

It appears that facts are inconvenient in your politically correct little world.

You'll do "anything" to keep "kiddie porn" off of this website?

What you describe as "Kiddie porn" is actually documented evidence from a police investigation. Are you accusing the police of being "disgusting"? because they are accusing two homosexual men of raping thier adopted boys and offering them for sex to other men?

Will you do anything to prevent children from being raped in the real world?
It appears you won't

Why?

Because you and the other liberal bigots continue to redfine reality so it can fit into your little politically correct view of the world.

When you are confronted with facts and reality you want to shut down the discussion and immediately respond with hate and accusations of intolerance, when in fact YOU are the ones who are hateful and intolerant.
