Michigan will be among the poorest states for years, study says

Full story: Detroit Free Press

Reliance on a shrinking automotive industry, the loss of 1 million jobs, outmoded taxes and lack of government reforms will make Michigan one of the nation's 10 poorest states for the foreseeable future, according to a study released Wednesday.

The truth isn't crap, we are in dire straights and we have Ms Grandholm and Mr Bishop and our legislators to thank.
Need to get a grip on reality and think those people in Lansing are really looking at the world they want to see. We have the highest unempolyment rate in the nation, also the most uneducated workforce in the nation. They want to work but they want 25 bucks and hours to sit on their butts. Unions have served their purpose it is time now for the workers to understand that things aren't just handed to you.
Just look t the statement we the state of Michigan gave 61 million dollars in tax credits to companies MORE MONEY THAN WE TOOK IN!!! What are those jerks in Lansing thinking???? We don't have the revenue of course not look at what your doing, Mr Bishop. These people in Lansing need to be held accountable for all of their actions, what they are doing is CRAP not the reporting. IMHO

Don't let the facts cloud your judgment there John.
The headline alone sums up where the state is and will be.
It took some time to lose a million jobs and stands to reason it will take time to regain them, if possible.
Having a few replacement jobs at Wixom making windmill and solar panel parts does little to rebuild. Instead of attracting business, the state is driving business out by over taxing them.
Young people with an education are leaving. Old people on fixed incomes who buy little are staying. The 2010 census will officially confirm the numbers.

The government is supposed to be there to help its citizens. NOT solely to help the government employees. Our elected officials don't care about us. They care about themselves and the government employees of MI.

Check out the article of the Detroit News about forfeitures. Google "Detroit forfeitures". This is some very scary stuff and this will be our future in MI.

Less government is what the PEOPLE of MI want. Less government=more freedom. Now let's put some people in office that will give us what we want!!!!

The dead auto industry, union presence, the crappy governor, Coleman Young, Kwammy Kilkpatrick, Detroit, Flint, Saginaw, Muskegon, East Lansing, Jackson, Benton Harbor, many areas within Grand Rapids, Inkster, or any other place where groups of lazy ghetto thugs reside, all add to the death of this state.

Honestly who would want to bring new business to this state, with that kind of offering?

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Scorpio

Don't let yourself be caught up in a crowd mentality. Just because someone else makes a major production out of what should be a simple matter, doesn't necessarily mean that it has to affect you adversely. You might be able to bring down the volume with a tap on the shoulder and a meaningful look. Even though it might not seem like it, your cool head is definitely appreciated at times like this.
