Joe wrote: <quoted text> What do you mean there is nothing for kids to do in Lansdale??? There are many parks, these parks have areas to play basketball, as well as tennis. They also have open fields where kids can get up a game of baseball, or football. There is the YMCA, and also The Boys and Girls Club. As far as kids getting into trouble, there is no substitution for parents. We all have busy lives these days; but kids need their parents to be there for them. Maybe people need to think about this, before having kids. As for my child he is not a very athletic kid, i have tried that route with him. my kids go to the ymca and one plays sports but my other child is into skateboarding and there is nowhere he go to do just that. there are parks and they go to the parks but still no skateboarding. not many kids at 12 want to slide down the slide or swing on the swings. so i dont understand why its so hard for lansdale to build a skate park and why are you so against it

as a teen who lives in lansdale, i think a skate park would be great for kids! obesity rates are at a high in the united states, and having a FREE place to excersize and have fun would be great! most parents cannot afford to pay for their children to join the YMCA. also, alot of families dont have the stability to take their kids to boy scouts or girl scouts. i think that a skate park would be beneficial to everyone in lansdale. it would keep kids off of the streets (and out of trouble with the police) and also give them something to look forward to. lansdale gives nothing back to the kids that reside here, so least give us something (:

hence the park where kids could play instead of at your business. I think there is a ban on skateboarding in lansdale. That might be a downer for the idea. congratulations, Joe, you might have won this one. Im not sure about the ban though. if there was a spot for them to skateboard possibly a silly ban would be lifted because the kids wouldnt be doing it near or on other property where vandalism or destruction would normally occur. this might be a private venture. i wouldnt be one to stop a possible revenue for any town. a park doesnt always mean Free
