This fool raped her. Regardless of what this child was doing, he had no right doing what he did. If that girl would have been trying to entice him (which I doubt) it would still be his responsbility as an adult to explain to this child that she should not be doing that and that he is an adult and this is not what adults and children do. Then he should have contacted her parents and let them know.

I know that he was wrong in raping her, but can her story be that accurate since she was under the influance? i mean she is 13 and drank a half bottle of rum, most of us would have been wasted from that. and while all of this was going on, what did the friend hear or even see. I cannot say how I am related to this case for obvious reasons, but let me say this. First of all you must all know that the media does not always report things accurately.(the headline is a perfect example, it makes it sound like the scumbag got raped) I know first hand that the victim had been best friends with the girl whos apartment she slept over for 2 years. There were many sleepovers during that time. When the mother of the victim found out that the man had been in jail for asking a 15 yr old girl "do you wanna watch?" and his side of the story was "I asked her , do you wanna watch out?" because she walked in front of his car. That is all the mother of the victim ever knew before her daughter was raped. Still the mother told the daughter she was forbidden to sleep there if he was ever around again.(The mother was also under the impression that the woman broke up with this man and he would have no reason to be there) The mother of the victim was just making sure her daughter understood that if he were to ever show up she should call home and get picked up. On the night o the rape, the victim told th emother the man was nowhere around and was "away" visiting his kids for the weekend anyway, so would have no reason to be near the apartment. The victim also thought her mother was being way over protective and lied to her about him being there. The other mother of the other girl apparently let this man move back in with her 13 and 6 year old daughters and left them home alone while she would work the night shift. On the night of the rape, she left them home alone with him again and the 2 13 year olds drank (not a half a bottle of rum, but they shared half of a half a bottle of rum, watered down) not that this is ok, but really what teenagers do not experiment? When I was yonger I tried alcohol as did many people I know and it did not mean we were "trash" or deserved to be hurt or raped. The victim did not have to tell anyone they had some rum, she was being honest. Some of the comments in here make me sick. This family did everything they could to protect their daughter without even knowing his history. The mom just didn't like him! And because her 13 yr old daughter acted like a typical teenager you make judgements implying that her parents are not good parents? Or that because she was drinking she is trash? Shame on you! PS) It is people like those of you who commented about the little girl drinking and being trash etc...who make people like him get away with things.
