Oklahoma High School Football - Atoka succumbs to Hartshorne

Come on now, does it really surprise anybody that Atoka lost????

These poor little teams that have lost their seniors are going to struggle for awhile that's for sure.

My daughter and her husband went to the Kinta ballgame a couple of weeks ago...don't remember who they were playing...but my daughter was feeling sick and told her husband she needed to go sit in the vehicle for a little while. Once you open the door on the newer vehicles the headlights come on. They only stay on for a few seconds and then go off, right? Well, they had Kinta supporters screaming at them to 'turn the d@*# lights off' and even had a Kinta individual banging on their door window 'to just get the hell out of there, Kinta was trying to play football'. They were so embarrassed! Both of them had went to Kinta Elementary school. They started the vehicle and drove around the block and parked elsewhere to where the lights would not shine on to the pasture Kinta uses for a field. By the way, Kinta lost 50-0.

Sounds like "hubby" needs to grow a pair and bash some heads the next time they bang on the window because the sick wife wanted to get in the car......do that once, and you never have that problem again!!!...with the door knocker, not the sick wife...lol

To set the facts straight.....it was the game officials who requested the lights be turned off.

The lights would have went off by themselves in about 30 seconds....nothing that would have or should have disturbed the game. And the facts WERE as stated.

It may not be a suprise that they lost what would be a suprise if there wasn't someone waiting to make some remark to make them feel bad. At least they hold there heads up in public instead of post remarks under a nickname.

All I'm saying is it really doesn't surprise the people who half way keep up with their games....they lose like this every year....I think I remember 1 or 2 years where they did half way decent...back in '01 or '02.....I don't mean it degrading..its just...the truth..lol, perhaps try getting some coaches that have the ability to "motivate" the players...then maybe we'll start winning a few

Shannon, you are right the tank is a nickname but If you really want to know who The Tank is. back in '98 he played for the coalgate football team and I think he never lost.. and by the way how things are going, if atoka wouldn't make anything to change to be a winning team, two things will happen .. or atoka turns reason of joke or reason for this forum never end..

you are right the tank is a nickname but If you really want to know who The Tank is. back in '98 he played for the coalgate football team and I think he never lost.. and by the way how things are going, if atoka won't make anything to change to be a winning team, two things will happen .. or atoka turns reason of joke or reason for this forum never end..

I never said I cared who Tank is or why he made the remarks about Atoka. I know alot of kids on that team and think that they are great kids If it is poor leadership then why not just say so instead of posting a general statement that could be taken as a slam against the boys?

Look, to clear up any misunderstandings about that statement of mine. All I meant by that was, since they have lost 99.9% of there games over the last 2 years, does it surprise somebody that they lost one more?
And P.S.....I too, believe that the problem lies with the coaching!!!

atoka football sucks. plain and simple. atoka has always been the joke of the football community and i see no evidence of it getting better. you could dress the new england patriots in atoka uniforms and coalgate would kick the * out of them. peace.

come on ya'll, stop the crap. atoka football hasn't been its best since about 84 to 89, but if you still live in atoka you should support your team no matter what, it is your duty to do so. and i seem to remember a time when atoka did kick the crap out of coalgate, and we did plant a cherry tree in ya'll's field, so get over it! atoka is a small town, and they don't have a lot of money to afford the coaches and help that they need. if everyone was so friggin worried about the football team, then maybe they need to get up off their a** and help them out when the team tries to raise money, or asks for help. if ya'll want the team to be better, then take the problem into your own hands and make it better.

yea, the cats did beat alot of teams back in 84-85. I remember in 84 our record was 9-2 and in 85 8-3 those were good days when the ATOKA WAMPUS CATS were very GOOD. In my book the wampus cats are and still #1 no matter what!! even til this day i tell my kid wampus cats are still the best.

I play for the wildcats right now and atoka is not the greatest but you never know how things will turn out but i do agree with the problem being in the coaching system.

i use to live in hartshorne myself n yes they lost some of their football players. we lost two seniors in jan 06, and nov 06 we lost a sophomore football player they are gainin their strength bck from loosin our players

it wasn't actually a cherry tree, but it was a damn good time.

Hey im from wilburton and we suck at football to, so its not that big of deal. . .

Atoka is getting better people may need to watch out in the future for these boys
