Rendell pushes for more municipalities to share their services

With governments at all levels in a fiscal slump, Gov. Ed Rendell is trying to jump-start debate over sharing more services at the local level.

would be easier just to eliminate municipalities, PA has WAY too many little fiefdoms.

Sounds like a great common sense idea; but the power hungry greedy local elected officials don't like to share their power and authority, let alone give up some of it!

Indeed, it's a great idea but you can't make it voluntary.

They will need to be compelled to do the right thing, as usual.

Without forced compliance, this is just Rendell grandstanding, like those failed incompetents in Congress grilling CEOs for taking advantage of the financial laws they themselves enacted.
