Drugs and Crime in Lancaster city.

Is it just me or has Lancaster become nothing more than a drug ridden crime infested shithole? I know Lancaster was really never the safest place to raise a child but it seems to me like in the past five years it has gotten really bad.We have basically become a rest stop for drug dealers moving their garbage from down south and New York.Im sure Philly has a lot to do with it too.If you think it's bad now wait another 5 years. Input and replies are greatly appreciated.

I am from Reading,Pa and we put up with it for the last 10 years or so.Now it seems like Reading cracked down alot,maybe alot of the thugs moved to Lancaster.We are driving them out of Reading with Operation Cobra.We lost two police officers in the line of duty from all this crap.If i were you i would not live in downtown Lancaster to raise children,it is too dangerous.Be Blessed

Need to see more vigilatism, like in Manheim.

seems like every place I have ever lived goes through this, most places take steps to weed out the bad stuff as much as they can (Like reading for example)Lancaster will act much the same until we all band together and take the city back.

I can not stand going into lancaster at all. I hate the city and there is nothing in it that interests me except for the Chameleon club when certain bands come to town. Lately I have been taking my son to meetings in town and I leave there feeling so frustrated and upset and then to watch the news last night to find there were two shootings!!!! I was in town at that time, what if my son or myself would have been shot??????

We HAVE to take back our city and the police won't do a thing about it, you know why?????

Young men from down town now bring their crap to our community and harass our kids. Mistaken identity or not, it was pre-meditated and inexcusable. Keep your trash IN the city.

It is no different from Reading,Pa It is everyone that moved in our city from other cities.Thugs and Drugs.They ran the city now we have to take our cities back like Guiliani did to New York.We have operation Cobra,but we lost 2 officers in the line of duty trying to clean up Reading!

to the mayor of lancaster pa im consern about our city what we need done here is that people with felonys should not be aloud to have pittbull dogs all the ones i no have these dogs only for one thing and thats for drugs and other things.they have them dogs in case the police get after them they can let there dogs go and thats not fare to the dogs are the police officers you can tell who loves there animals and who dont think about that thank you.

Yes,alot of dealers have pittbulls but there are people that have them that are not drug dealers also.It is a 50%~50%.I do think that is not the number 1 problem.If a officer wants in a house with a pittbull,they can get in no problem.They have many methods to put the dog out and i dont mean kill the dog.Mostly they have the dogs for other drug dealers to stay away and not get robbed for there drugs and money.My sons father has pitbulls and they are like babies.It is all how they where raised and who breeded them.

Im from downtown lancaster and all you suburban people dont know the stuggles we go through living in a box were if your black your harrased by cops cant stand nowhere without the racial profiling.Not everyblackman has criminal intent.This city is primaraly white and spanish go to the jobs thats all you see.They trying hard to get rid of us and if we dont come together theyll suceed.

The Police in Lancaster city are either scared or their hands are tied behind their back. They are told not to make arrests simply because there is no room in the jails ( unless the crime is extreme like a shooting, otherwise drug dealers can go about as they please).

There are over 3,000 outstanding warrants so you figure that one out.

If the govt. won't do anything, then I would love to see the community pull together to do something themselves. Something like the Guardian Angels.....community members patrolling the streets if necessary.

Thug Kids rule these streets now a days....and we're scared of that?! We need to do to this city what the Russians did to Brighten Beach in NYC. Push them out at ANY COST and see the community thrive once more.

Who knows.....maybe the city is waiting for the Convention center to be finished before they do anything. Possibly smart on their part if so ( Need a clean enough city if you want to attract business) then again the delay just shows how many problems they are willing to let go before they act.

If the Mayor and police can't accomplish what we pay them for, then no reason we can't do it ourselves.

I think alot of the criminals left Reading,Pa and went to Lancaster.Reading cracked down real bad and they will arrest you even know our prison is over crowded.They pile the inmates on top of each other and make them live in very bad conditions.Some have 3 to 4 in one cell,some inmates are sleeping on the floor in the county jail.If they wont arrest these people,Lancaster is gonna get as bad as Reading was.My mother was from Lancaster so my whole family lives there on her side.I would hate to see that happen to a beautiful city that i grew up in.My memories from a child were going there.It is very sad.

As a visitor from Miami, FL, another city subjected to drug related crimes, I was disappointed with Lancaster. I imagined it would be a nice town with beautiful scenery. Imagine my surprise when I accidentally drove down a dead end street that rivaled anything I have seen in south FL. I hope your city does it's best in cleaning up crime revializing your potentially beautiful city.

i lived in lancaster all my life. yes living in the city has got crazy.but i rember a time when you could be out your house and leave your doors unlocked and windows open,at that timr the block looked out 4 you and your kids to. but we the people stop looking out 4 each other. we need to stop letting these kind of people ruining our town and running us out of r homes. we need to stand up and fight and take r city.

i look at it like this people with fellons should not be aloud to have are rasied pitbulls they dont care about those dogs they got them dogs for one reasons.cause if they get caught selling drugs they will let the dogs go on the police officers and thats not right.because the dogs will be shot and then the fellons just contiune to get more dogs.its a game to them
