I understand the need for repairs. Can't the money be applied towards a new facility? If the state/feds are going to reimburse up to 70% take advantage of that.... If not it's like fixing up a 72 Ford Granada

How long has this been a problem? Hmmm lets see last year while Binkley was handing out ten and twenty thousand dollar raises it was going on,maybe if she curbed spending on her "top" people we would have some of the money to make some of these repairs.
And lets not forget all the money spent on putting together "Committees" to decide how to handle the problem.
Shes p-i-s-s-i-n-g more city money down the drain on unqualified personnel in the Church st building than anywhere else.
Not to mention i have a copy of this new contract with chatwells that several members of the school committee questioned the spending on Nov5th.
its a real eye opener the amount of money we are paying them so far i have calculated over 250thousand and its still rising.

When was the last time the air quality was measured by the State Tom!!!! The last that I know of was 4 years ago when two mothers made a stink about it. Because of that, the air quality, Leominster is now paying for a chld to attend a different school at the tax payers expense. I would really like to see the air quality issues.

Would you like to elaborate on all the "information" you have? You sound like you are really in the know about a lot of things. Maybe you should run for school committee!! People like you should not just sit there and stew with all the terrible information you have. You could save the world if you just came out with all your facts!!!

Hum, let us see, probably going on 20 years? The high school was a pit in the 80's and gets worse every year and every year the problems are ignored. If you have lived here long enough, the HS has been a constant complaint, same old same old.

Everyone thought that Sky View should have been a new high school for the town.

Face it, the elected officials don't give a hoot about the HS, never have, never will.

Just goes to show you that the school committee members don't know what they are doing when they enter into a contract without know the total cost of it all. Can anyone say Crossroads? These are NOT business people, they have no idea how to do any sort of negotiations and honestly should not be allowed to.

If they have so much free cash, why don't they use it? they sure like to put themselves out there in the paper. School in disrepair, need a new fire station and they need a new police dept.
Maybe Leominster isn't the jewel we think...or they would like us to think.

That is probably true, it will all come out soon enough. Their crime rate is high and the students need to be reined in.

The contract is public knowledge anyone can go get a copy, apparently no one cared when it was being outsourced so why should they complain now.
I have stayed on top of this from the moment outsourcing talks started and believe me that schmooze we got about it going to be better and save us money on so many things is plain c r a p we the city and tax payers are responsible for everything according to this document, maintenance, repair,or replacement of equipment, reimbursement to this company for foods, paper goods, payroll ANY and EVERY operating expense.
Not to mention the "management fee" we pay them and 4 cents for every meal that gets served,so if we pay for payroll, food, all operating expenses AND pay them, where exactly are these "savings" we where trying to attain by getting rid of the old program?
We are already spending more on this new program than we did on the old one and make them show the numbers because the lunch counts ARE down.

Did you say "we the city"?

I hope you used your power and intelligence and expertise back then and didn't just sit back and wait to play Monday morning quarterback. It would be a shame that someone like you didn't come forward with all these answers ahead of time.

Yeah i did say we the city do you think the school dept has a magic money tree? no they get their money allocated from the city and grants.
And i believe the cafeteria women told us from the start these things would happen but everyone considered them bitter for losing their jobs so they stopped saying anything.
Any time one of them spoke out all they got was "your just mad your losing your cushy city position!"
So a couple of us folks decided to start monitoring this company and Binkley and again its all public knowledge where do you think all this info came from?
Go ask for it but be ready to get the go around from them we still are being denied the copy's of all the bids which again are public knowledge well supposed to be.

Participation is down and my kids say the food is not consistent, and the cookie remark? Are you referring to the crack the Rochell group made about the past food service selling cookies and that it was unhealthy and should be stopped? Also the remark he made about them serving food on Styrofoam trays and how no one ever ate a good meal served on Styrofoam?
Guess what? My daughter came home from school last week and low and behold the new company is now selling....wait for it wait for it.. you guessed it COOKIES!!!!!!! for only 25 cents hmmm why does that seem familiar,i cant place my finger on it.
AND they serve their food on????????? you you guessed it STYROFOAM trays TA-DA!!!!!!!
AREN'T WE ALL GLAD WE ARE DISHING OUT YET EVEN MORE MONEY TO THIS PROGRAM THAN TO THE OLD ONE SO WE CAN GET SUBSTANDARD SERVICE FOR OUR KIDS?

I was a student there from 99-03' and i can tell you that if I were a parent and considering Leominster for MY children, the fact that it's been well documented that the school is overpopulated and well behind other area schools like Fitchburg in the way of amenities and student comfort, I would consider school choice to move them to a more favorable location.

It's sad that the education of our children has been put off this long as it is. I think the city of Leominster has to step up big time to prove to me that it's school system is more of a priority if I'm going to consider remaining in the area.

Hey clown, if you had been paying attention at all you would have received all these facts and more. If you don't think so dig up the old post from back in the spring when this thing was going hot asnd heavy with all Binksters lies and accusations and witholding the truth and facts.
This didn't happen overnite clown and belive me it will get worse.
We the taxpayers have been had by the lying deceitful Binskster and the condencending school committe who gave her whatever she wanted and are afraid to buck her.
She's a lying vicous B_I_T_C_H especially if anyone gets in ger way. Ask any of the former employeees what she's like and what her tactics are. If you get in my way your gone.....
