Who lets a 12yr old loose with a fricken' CAR?? Especially with other CHILDREN running around?! I know back in the day many a country parent would let their TEENS learn to drive a stick shift around the backroads and on their property, but this is a 12yr old.

Children these days aren't responsible enough to be driving any motor vechicle with out supervision. This incident proves it. They all including the little girl that got run over think they are ten foot tall and bullet proof.

farm kids in the 50's,60's & 70's are way different than today's kids...they were helping their parents by sometimes driving hay trucks, tractors and running thrashers & combines when they were 8 and 10 yrs old...getting up early to feed the livestock and then coming in to help the younger kids get ready for school...and when they came home from school they did their homework and then went out and worked in the fields until dark...if you didn't work you didn't eat...

now kids are so wrapped up with all the fantasy crap like video games and play stations and hollywood fake movie crap they haven't a brain left in their heads to think with...

thank goodness she isn't injured any worse than she already is...and my question is the same as alot of yours...where were the parents or guardians??

Children now days aren't just wrapped up in the fantasy stuff, they're just strait out and out lazy. My kids, if you ask them to do something they act like you've asked them to remove a body part. When they get home, they know that there are things that are to be done and done they will be or else no going to the game or over to that new friend's house.

Letting a child of 12 drive is totally irresponsible. I don't care what the reason was for letting him drive. I guess my point is kids today may mature physically faster than when we were kids but mentally they seem to be progressing slower. And some parents do not teach that for every action there is an oppisite and equal reaction.

My prayers are going out for this little girl that was struck by the car. I hope she's going to be ok. I just hope that the parents learned a lesson too.

Kids today may be spoiled, but they will suffer more out in the real world, because they're uninitiated in what really matters. The incidents of reality will take its cost, just like this tragedy. Kids today have a rude awakening lying ahead, especially as adults. If parents care, they need to talk, talk, talk and talk even more at attempts to assure their kids that the real things can be harsh, and that reality shows no favoritism.

I just happen to be related to this little boy and girl. Obviously you people don't know the whole situation. Their parents are very good people and care for and take care of them. Kids will be kids and unless you know the whole story, don't assume things.

It is obvious you don't know all the facts...they kids were not even at their own home, they were a family friend's home were they run derby and mud trucks in age categories. People are so quick to judge and not think.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Virgo

Be careful you don't wind up doing someone else's work today, Virgo. There are all sorts of little tricks to persuade you to take pity on them, from pretending to be ill to making such a hash of everything that you can't bear to watch for a moment longer. Then you are likely to be asked to put in some overtime, at the expense of your social life. Grr.
