I want to personally applaud MHS. I read several posts about a variety of topics, and I have to say, several people do not have the inclination to really find out what happened, what something is, and why something came to be. We regularly have people misquoting and downright lying about what the US Constitution says (which is proof few people actually read it, much less pay attention to it). We've got other people thinking 1791 was as complex socially, politically, and culturally as 2011. Very few if any people has an understanding of what happened in other parts of the world. At least MHS is trying to get people to read more, to ask more questions, to investigate things more, and to truly celebrate and learn from the past with this new idea. I hope it works because right now, the knowledge base I read on topix is just not there. Its a wonder the state, much less the country, has been successful this long.
