Rumors are abound that Washex has or is near filing bankruptcy. Is this true

I worked there 26 years until January of this year. They are hurting, it's a shame on how it was run from Germany.

I'm sorry to hear this. Are they trying to reorganize and are they still manufacturing equipment? I can't get sales to return my calls.

Worked there for close to 14 years until I left late 2008. Their parent company in Germany, Lavatec, has filed for bankruptcy last month and the court proceedings began yesterday. Total of 240 employees out of work.
Haven't heard how it goes on with Washex, but wish everyone the best working there and hope they come around.

I can't get anyone to answer my calls in the parts department. When I finally do they either do not have the part and do not know when they are going to get it. Or they my UPS or Fed Ex shipper number as they can no longer ship parts without my shipper numbers. This tells me that UPS and Fed Ex have cut off their accounts. Some of the manufacturers of the OEm will sell direct know due to the problems with Washex. They might as well close their doors. I am glad I don't have any new equipment that I have paid a deposit on from them. I am just trying to find parts for my 64/40's and challenge Dryers.

Good Luck, although I hear that Lavatec and Washex had equipment on display at the recent clean show in New Orleans.

They tell the people who have money deposited with them that they will get it back, but it has already been spent by Lavatec. As a result, the cash flow isn't there to get it back. The best thing I could recommend is getting an attorney and filing a lawsuit to try and get it back. Bob Montgomery (president) avoids calls from the customer and parts related issues are a joke. Samir doesn't have a game plan and people continue to leave there. It's just a matter of time before they go under. Good Luck.

Lavatec, Inc. in the U.S. just filed Chapter 11 on July 24th. Reorganizing, I guess.

I've had to turn to another company located in Texas called Ramco Laundry. They have Washex parts but also have much better equipment in the first place. They always answer the phone.

Still trying to get parts myself from Lavatec. Getting ready to lose a press due to "divided basket guides" I can't get for a 581 press.

Five employees of Washex late Friday afternoon filed a wage claim form with Workforce Solutions North Texas seeking unpaid wages from the company.

Bill Scantlin of Workforce Solutions said his agency was told by the workers that they had not been paid by the Wichita Falls manufacturing plant for nearly a month.
