Typical filty rich liberal enviro-nut-nimbys. They are the "Ive got mine, you cant ever get yours" type. They buy up or otherwise control all the land, and prohibit building on it until they are the only ones left able to live here.

aquiring more open space.... our government can't afford to keep open the open spaces it already has...
the article is not very clear (surprise, surprise) on WHERE THIS LAND IS LOCATED, ASSOCIATED COSTS, and, they want another tax to pay for it.

More of the same misuse of public funds for the ag elite of the Pajaro Valley...(like this!)...and unconscionable misuse and theft of our water supply

http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/ci_11365399...

...except the scam this time is based on "ag easements"....monies paid to landowners so they won't develop either "undevelopable" land or farm land they would never plan on developing anyway!(Like lands owned by "Driscolls", already.?)

SC Land Trust is a stooge/front organization for all the usual suspects.... heritage Pajaro Valley ag land owners/landlords..eg....

You will all pay through your real estate tax bills...
Like you do now for the "Santa Cruz Resource Conservation District"

http://www.rcdsantacruz.org/

Query (ask yourself): If we have this "Resource Conservation District" we have spent millions of $ on for decades (?)....

WHY DON'T WE HAVE ANY WATER?????????

Why isn't the Assembly working on passing a budget?

We can not afford any new projects or programs, period. As the budget currently stands, we are $2,600 per family in the hole -$26 billion.

Solve the current crisis before adding more things to spend money on.

Bzzzzzzzzt wrong.

The FAQ section talks about generalities when it comes to how much it will cost. But it will definitely cost, and likely more than $8 million per year (estimated to be collected from a raise of .25% to the sales tax).

How can we even think about adding more to the budget when we can't even pay for what we currently have?

People who support the Open Space thingie: what do you specifically think we should give up in order to pay for this? Social services? Roads? Schools?

9.5% sales tax is high enough already. This proposal would make it 9.75%(at the very least).

Here's a novel idea: How about if Open Space District supporters get together with likeminded friends and buy the lands outright, and make the Open Space District that way?

Why do you want to force everyone to pay for your pet project idea?
