Who cares? More Gang Banging, it's not going to change!

I am outraged at the amount of money being spent to haul these criminals to hospitals, where they receive top notch medical care many law abiding, hard working, tax paying citizens cannot afford for themselves. Because we have assets we do not qualify for the "free ride" and end up having to sell everything to pay for our own care. If I wasn't a blue eyed blond I would give my name as something hispanic and try to get away with it as these people do. Instead,give them a box of band aids and tell them good luck.

The so called :
" Intellectual City Leaders " either lack the intelligence, or desire, or the huevos to put and end to a " City Gone Wild " and the constant chaos that occurs 24/7.

For me, there were 2 options:

1. Hang onto the seat of your pants and hope and Pray that things would change. And that neither myself, or any of my family members, would end up as crime or gangbanger road kill.(being the innocent victims of crimes, or the recipients of some gangbanger bullit).

2. Leave !

Which is what we did !

Actually, I live in Pacific Grove and have lived on the Monterey Peninsula all my life. As this disgusting behavior moves our way we will deal with it. As for Salinas, Castroville, Watsonville and other gang infested areas, I value my life too much to go there. The city of Salinas needs to bring in the National Guard and FBI Counter-Terriorism Task Force. I make that suggestion to city leaders and anyone else who will listen constantly. I don't know where you fled to but wherever you are this problem needs to be dealt with immediately. If it isn't it will be in your back yard again. And I'm sorry but I can't agree with you. Leaving is no solution.

I struggle with the same feelings, my friend. At this point in time it is just Mexicans killing Mexican, do you really care if a Gang Banger dies? I didn't think so! I wonder, how can the City Leaders of Salinas can get away with this non-action attitude. Unless, they don't care either. As long as they don't come over here, maybe we shouldn't care about Mexicans dieing, I don't think they care either, it's their way of life

Okay! I got your point. However,many of times decent people from these so called, "gang infested areas" visit and support your town such P.G,Monterey,Carmel,even Santa Cruz.
Think about this... most liberals that live in these areas want these Mexicans to stay in Salinas, Watsonville because you fear us or they are just plane ignorant about the culture. I just don't understand this.Salinas, does not only have gangs. Even, the city of S.F has crime. I sure you don't have a problem going there. Hmmm!
I know many residents of the Peninsula potest againt the war(Palestine,Israel,etc)..The y even try to fit in ethnic groups,practice yoga,belly dancing,bla bla bla. I think it is very hypocritical of them and silly too. If they are so passionate about peace and unity then why don't I ever see them here protesting.
Maybe because it's to close to home. However,they sure want us to clean their house,do yard work,cook meals at your so called, fancy resturants.

The city goverments, police ,prison industry, courts- they are letting this happen because they have been doing the same thing over and over again for many years even though they know that it does not work. They want to keep this going in a revolving circle because it makes good business and it keeps those "mexicans" in the gutter. I have a sister in-law who is from a wonderful (Salinas) Hispanic family. One of my closest friends is his Hispanic. They are here legally, speak English, pay taxes, have raised wonderful, educated, productive children. These are two examples of people who are exactly like me. It is important to realize, though, how closely this problem is directly related to the Hispanic immigrant culture. Until the Hispanic community is willing to act in a positive way to rid Salinas of this problem it will not go away. I appreciate every person who is trying to lead a productive life in this country. I personally think that these people should be allowed to stay here as they are making a contribution to this country. But don't get me wrong, I feel like I am already paying five dollars for a head of lettuce. This segment of society is a huge financial drain on California.

It is much more important to realize how this problem is related to the white capitalist society. The U.S. has the biggest gap between the rich and the poor and that means there is going to be violence. If it was not for illegal immigrants most white people would not be in America because they also crossed the border via ocean. The government and the system is not doing anything to stop this problem, they may be making it look like they are stoping the problem but they aren't doing shit instead they are adding fire to the fuel. They keep doing the same thing over and over even though they know it is not working. Their solutions are to build more prisons and arrest more people and spend more money on the incaceration industry than on the public school system. The recidivism rates are so high that most inmates going into the California prison sysytem are not new inmates. In many of these communities less than half the young ever receive high school diplomas due to the poor school system. You guys create more poverty and lack of education, and then you have the nerve to blame the victims who live in these communities.

Well, Amy, I don't know where to begin. Lets see, if you don't like a white capitalist society, then go somewhere else! The US does not have the biggest gap between rich and poor. That statement is just plain ignorant. The overwhelming majority of people entering this country prior to the latin (include hispanic) invasion came here legally, learned the language, respected their new country, and proceeded to make something of themselves. I do agree with you about our penal system. I think that the best solution would be for everyone in this country illegally who is convicted of a crime to be sent to a prison in Mexico to serve their sentences. Put a microchip in them so they will be easier to find the next time they sneak back into this horrible capitalist country. As to the lack of education, the presence of non english speaking children in our public school system drags down the educational standard for english speaking students as well. This has a huge impact on their ability to function in society as well. So you see, everyone suffers by the presence of these people who are unwilling to assimilate into society.

This country does have the biggest gap between the rich and the poor and that is why it has the highest number of street homicides and the highest number of people behind bars. You are ignorant, but it is ok because there is people out there trying to enlighten people like you. I live in Salinas amongst Mexican people, and they are not illegal to me, they are human beings who are tryning to make better life for themselves. Prior to the Mexicans, the European were even a bigger problem when they came to America because they wreaked a holocaust or genocide on the Indigenous peoples who were already living here. It was holocaust so terrible that from 1492 to 1508 alone 3 million people were wiped out and that is only a small fraction of the whole holocaust. Those Europeans included English Americans who did not bother to learn the languages that were already spoken in America. It also included Hispanic or Spanish people who brought spanish and raped Indigenous women and African Americans just like the English and that's why now they come in different shades. Their prefered method of exterminating Indigenous peoples was killng of non-combatants such as children, women, and elderly. Those actions should warrant them to be called illegal. The US is supposed to be a melting pot, the idea that it is supposed to be a country where English Americans are superior to everyone else is plain ignorant. You should learn some Spanish or learn more about other other cultures so you can assimilate to this melting pot called the U.S.A. That is the problem many people so not want to see the melting pot and they want it to a country where the English Americans or at least european americans are superior to everyone else, and they refuse to assimilate. You do not even want to come to the communites where the Large numbers of mexicnas live. I'm a white boy but I am a true American because I am not afraid to assimilate and as far as i am concerned most of these people you guys call illegal are more American than those whites who refuse to assimilate into the USA because they have an illusion that this is the confederate south. Your solution to the penal system is not a solution because it is only your opinion about what you call "illegals" in prison. We need some real aolutions. We need some jobs. We need better education. That's what we should be worried about If we woke up tommorow morning without people who have Indigenous blood in them including Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans our country would be in big trouble. How the hell are immigrants taking English European American jobs when they do not speak English. Public schools do not bother to teach them how to speak it. They spoke the languages native to their countries of birth, French, German, Danish, Swedish, Portuguese, Italian, Greek, and on and on. They were did not have teachers that spoke their languages, let alone have their lessons spoken to them in their native language. My husbands grandparents immigrated here from Italy. Their grandfather learned to speak English immediately. When their children were born they were not allowed to speak Italian in their home, even though they were all fluent. They were Americans now, and they spoke English. I'm not saying that that is how it should be now but that is how it was in this family. I think one of the main differences in past generations of immigrants and the current one is (beside the fact that it is so easy to come here illegally now) is that their homelands were so far away that returning was not feasible, Now, it is only a day or so away. I do not look down on the Hispanic community. As stated, we are all working and living together. We should all be making an effort to coexist peacefully. Because the overwhelming majority of crimes are being committed by Hispanics and the culture is, for the most part, isolated, the hispanic community being proactive is the only way to solve this. wave of violence short of bringing in the National Guard and FBI Counter Terriorism task force.

US of A, English language and laws
that is what every immigrant should assimilate to
regardless of their origin
THAT is what makes a successful melting pot

Here in CA, there has been a change; it started with catering to a "minority" that is NOT fair to

For a melting pot, it sure caters too much to Mexican , for example: job applications

With no vote whatsoever, stores have started
to id products in both English and Spanish.
Even Salinas’s trashcans have both languages

Most Europeans refused to assimiliate and learn the languages that were indigenious in America. I already hit that point.
