Bernie replies;
Disagree. Observe how F. D.R. with the genius of Marriner Eccles focused on strengthening the middle class. Engine to our financial establishment is sustained with a flow of liquidity. Middle class are the consumers that produce liquidity via their rapid expenditures for consumption of products produced. Preventing that, by hording the wealth to a few, decimates the consumers for production of products and its consumption. Eliminate consumer no products sold. Business fail . Game over? Example;… 5 people playing poker. Game progresses and the pot goes to 2 winners. They play as long as the other 3 have credit. When that is gone, game over.
Note; at that time of F.D.R. the 1% of the population held 43% of the nations wealth. Presently 1.2% hold 40% of the wealth. Middle class lost a big hand. Game nearly over. Strengthen the middle class by infusing health and prosperity becomes the responsibility of the government. Incorrect polices that stimulate the 1.2% will hasten the termination of the game. It is now time to stimulate the middle class to increase liquidity.“if” you wish to keep the game going.
I speculate republicans will want to extract a greater debt from the middle class as they speculate the margin is significant enough, at 3% plus. I consider this naďve gambling and with a few more hands played, the game will be ended .
War is debt to nation. Gone are the days of plunder to the Victors. Germany being saddled with a burdensome debt organized themselves and attacked their oppressors. Observe Allied’ response as victors. Lesson learned did not fine the nations that lost the war. They rebuilt them to keep communism to gain a foot hold in an impoverished culture. Increasing debt to the victors.
Liberal International Free Trade Marketing make war an unprofitable pursuit.“And the WALL comes a tumbling down….

Republicans on women’s rights are and have been constantly abused and degraded as social human being, Virtually all cultures have held females as second rated citizens or worse.
Chauvinistic prejudices still run rampant within our USA. Example Ryan is an anti-choice extremist. Ryan co-sponsored an extremist anti-choice bill, nicknamed the 'Let Women Die Act,' that would have allowed hospitals to deny women emergency abortion care even if their lives were at risk. And he co-sponsored another bill that would criminalize some forms of birth control, all abortions, and in vitro fertilization. More examples here pick one; "Statement on Mitt Romney's Selection of Rep. Paul Ryan for His Vice-Presidential Running Mate," NARAL, August 11, 2012
http://www.moveon.org/r...
"Paul Ryan's Extreme Abortion Views," The Daily Beast, August 11, 2012
http://www.moveon.org/r...
"Paul Ryan Sponsored Fetal Personhood Bill, Opposes Family Planning Funds," Huffington Post, August 11, 2012
http://www.moveon.org/r...

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs where are they? With republicans like Ryan and his plans for middle class economic plan would cost America 1 million jobs in the first year. Ryan's proposed budget would cripple the economy. He'd slash spending deeply, which would not only slow job growth, but shock the economy and cost 1 million of us our jobs in 2013 alone and kill more than 4 million jobs by the end of 2014.

Bernie replies to those that are beguiled by the myth of republican superior economics.
Just the opposite.
I don’t know what you invested in. I read the Markets by their index’s. Observe the annual compound returns for the DOW, S&P500 and Nasdaq 17.2%, 25.3%, and 31.7% respectively in Obama’s first 3.3 years. Lets compare that with Ronald Reagan for the same indices and time period. Dow 6.86%, S&P 500 6.16% Nasdaq 7.02%
I remind you the G.W. Bush in his last 17months in office had stock market loss of 58%! Worse than any rolling 17 month period during the crash of the market in the great depression Presently Obama has recovered in the equity markets, making up most of the lost from Bush. Today we float around 13,000. Obama essentially provided a tourniquet to stop the spiraling bleeding and the downward trend. Last 12 months of Bush ,we suffered the lost of 4.43 million jobs. Not since the great depression has that occurred. By stopping the downward spiral of markets and increasing the equity markets by 105%. Obama Provided the foundation, to halt the spiraling jobs lost of 750,000 a month.
Time to upgrade your portfolio. I presume you’re a Bear. That would explain your loss of comprehension as the Bull comes charging in.

Ryan/Romney/Antichrist 2012 Plan for the Middle Class:

- Eliminate Medicare in 2016

- Eliminate SS immediately

- Eliminate grants, loans, public anything that helps keep the middle class from descending into poverty

What does this mean in real numbers for the Middle Class?

-$4,000/year/family to pay for ZERO tax rates for the billionaires that are the GOPUX and the Romneys and the millionaire Ryans.

-$6,000/senior/year to pay for the destruction of Medicare...initially. In less than a decade, seniors will be unable to purchase health insurance...period. Everything will be out of pocket including that $100K heart surgery or longterm cancer treatment.

- Initial cost of Ryan/Romney/Antichrist 2012 for Middle Class families:

$16,000/year PLUS elimination of benefits like Medicare and Social Security and public education. In less than a generation, the Middle Class will be a tenth of what it is today as 90% descend into poverty.

How many Middle Class TeaBaggers comprehend this kind of math?

That would require that Republiscums of any stripe can add. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

No one, including the GOPUX disputes these numbers.

They also do not dispute the making of women's wombs into government property. They also do not dispute that a young girl would be executed for aborting a fetus that is the result of rape or incest or is physically killing her.

Having been confronted from both sides by the heinous facts of Ryan/Romney/AntiChrist 2012, what do Republiscum rank and file do? They double down on ignorance and fantasy praying that Ryan/Romney/Antichrist 2012 will not hurt them too badly.

Why can't we secede from these morons.

Yeah, that sounds like you like women a whole lot, as long as they tow the party line and dont dare to have an independent thought. That sounds an awful lot like the modern version of "Bare foot and pregnant" to me.
C'mon Troll, next talking point....
There is no independent thought in the GOPUX...none.

Hurricane a coming..
Ironically as the republicans convention Winds up, will their Freudian slips be amplified with the Winds of a Hurricane once again approaching our shores. Could this be an Ominous warning of what they represent. Republican Hurricanes have been plaguing our Main Street USA since 1970. Last one, hurricane Bush, damaged our Main Street USA to the tune of $11 Trillion for repairs. Hmmm
Farewell: what’s your take on this... Hmmmm
How long will it take to make all clean up and repairs? Hard to tell with all the sabotaging efforts that the republicans continuously advocate to our Main Street USA.
Republicans are exhibitionist of a no, no, no leadership party. Observe when Wall Street was bailed out. They partied and rewarded their executives, with $ millions of tax free dollars. Same executives’ that FAILED our economy. USA rewards failures? Elitist Welfare?
Main Street USA gets one lump of coal to sustain them through wintry Christmases.
Now Nov. 6 -2012 comes rolling by, we hear from the Cronyism from their fortress on Wall Street…BAH HUMBUG.“Let them die. It will reduce the surplus populace”

Ryan would replace Medicare with vouchers for retirees to purchase insurance, eliminating the guarantee of health care for seniors and putting them at the mercy of the private insurance industry. That could amount to a cost increase of more than $5,900 by 2050, leaving many seniors broke or without the health care they need. He'd also raise the age of eligibility to 67.

Ryan/Romney/Antichrist 2012 keep saying they are going to stop Obama from saving $716 Billion from Medicare.

The math says that means Ryan/Romney/Antichrist are out to kill Medicare by 2016. There is real meaning for seniors and their families to:

FOUR MORE YEARS!

NRH I'M wondering what you think of all the figures quoted by Forand and Oregon sux.Such as the immediate end of S.S. Seems to me if ROMNEY got these things through Congress that would destroy the republican party. In other words....these figures....don't ALL sound legitimate..though some do.

Hurray to former Fl Gov Chris for his support of Obama. A True republican and a gentleman.
My republican party is not the same party I grew up with, they are too extreme to the right and want to win against Obama no matter at what cost! They do not care about the nation, its people or nothing! most of them are selling their soul to the devil. They no longer see me as a woman but as a vote and not caring whether my human rights as a female gets violated. A true woman able to stand on her two feet will not support today's republican party.

The whole thing is nothing more than a shell game to keep us distracted from the fact that we are still floating on a
false economy. Neither party is going to save anyone from
a looming economic disaster.

SUXboy and Burnt Rearend are just a couple of partisan shills that just can't see beyond a ballot box. These two parrots merely copy
and paste other peoples work.

With over 13 million people (which is under-reported) out of work and a potential war with Iran which will put gas prices through
the roof and cause more unemployment, where is our precious
government going to get the funds needed to fund Social Security?.

Decades of greedy rich pigs feeding at the government trough has helped to put us in a shaky economy. We can't blame it all on
Shrub and Oblamo.

The Democrat party is seen as too extreme to the left, as well. They certainly don't care about the working voters or the nation, except during election year.

It really doesn't matter any more, who you vote for. The middle class is doomed anyway. I just don't care for Socialism.

I have been reading this interesting thread. I do not know where you get your history, but you are simply repeating gosh knows what.

1) Reagan did not tear down the Berlin Wall. If you want to give credit to someone, give credit to George F. Kennan, "The Long Telegram" and the policy of containment.

2) FDR did not get elected because of some sort of corrupt machine...he got elected because the economy collapsed in 1929 and Hoover and the GOP did very little about it right through 1932.

3) If you look at GDP and unemployment numbers in the 1930s, one sees that economic conditions began to improve almost as soon as FDR got into office...beginning with the "Bank Holiday." It continued to improve till 36-37 when there was a small blip when FDR cut back on New Deal programs.

4) GDP and unemployment were almost recovered, and on an uphill trajectory even before spending began for WW 2.

I know Rush Limbaugh and Beck say different, but their conclusions are not in line with the evidence.

I don't believe anything that either of those trolls post. They will post anything their troll handlers tell them to.
Does anyone really believe that Romney or the repubs would immediately end social security? Romney has said repeatedly that there would be no change for anyone under 55. And, if nothing is done at all, there won't be ANY type of benefits for anyone under 55 anyways because the govt will be broke.

So if someone says something that you disagree with, they are just "repeating gosh knows what"? I find it pretty funny that anyone who disagrees with the liberal mantra is accused of being stupid or is just repeating what they heard someone else say, and the usual names are limbaugh or beck.
I have not commented on Reagan or the Berlin wall. And my only comment on FDR was that he wasn't the econonomic saviour that we have all been told he was. We have been spoon fed that line and it, like anything in history, isn't as simple as most believe.

This has nothing to do with politics. I was in error about Berlin Wall--that was Texasn.

Whatever the case, you are stating historic "facts" that do not line up with the evidence.

People of the past did not live their lives to make us feel good. Nor did they live their lives to validate a particular political ideology in 2012.

Here is some advice, whenever a politician of either party, or an AM talk show host, or even a minister (outside of the context of their faith, of course) says "history says" be very, very leery of what they say.

I will give you a non-political example. Many people in the US have been taught that people thought the world was flat.

Demonstrably untrue. Everyone who thought about it, back to Plato, knew the world was round. Heck, we have Roman and Greek writers who say as much. We have Roman coins with a round globe, we have Medieval & Roman maps of a round globe.

One must be careful about "history" that you hear from pundits and "common knowledge."
