Woman dies outside Lake Worth convenience store after hit-and-run

They face harsher penalties when they leave the scene. If they stayed they most likely get let go. Fear makes people do the most stupid things.

My guess is a drunk illegal alien that did not want to be deported...

Convenience store, Lake Worth Road, Early Saturday morning? Now who would be hanging outside, someone out to buy milk? Sounds like a hit to me.

who sits on a pallet of water outside a 7-11? a LOSER, that's who.

i checked the pbc sherrifs site to see if this woman was on it. i found it very strange a 55 year old woman would be sitting outside a 7-11 at four in the morning in a very bad high crime area. she has been arrested numerous times, once for battery on a police officier, loitiering, prostitution, public drinking, trespass order, etc..... nothing terrible but i knew the only kind of woman who would sit outside a store in a horrible ghetto like area know for prostitution, drugs and crime, well it did not sound right, my grandmothers 55 and she would not do it.

only hookers, strippers or drug dealers hang around this area, any woman must be a stripper, hooker or dope dealer that would do this, i am NOT saying she deserved this, on the contrary i feel very sorry for her that at her elderly age she had to prostitute or drugs or whatever to survive, its very sad and a woman her age lived like this, may she rest in peace.

i think it was an accident probably some drunk didnt see her, or it was a "trick" who turned violent and deadly, probably a accident it was dark and the woman might have been homeless and no place to go, a tragic accident.

perhaps the cops could regulate this better, i remember when i lived in lake worth ten years ago they had a horrrible drug, prostitution, homeless and drug problem and it got worse and worse, now that PBCS have taken over it might get better, no woman should have to resort to this kind of terrible life.

Some of you people are the genuine maggots that plague society.
First of all, Margie Davis had nothing to do with prostitution OR drugs. FACT.
Secondly, the 7-11 where she was killed is in the great area of Lake Worth - not in a "ghetto" and not "on Lake Worth road".
Margie was a very wonderful friend of ours and was a truly kind and caring person. She will be missed by the many people of Lake Worth that knew who she really was.

I live in Delray and my ISP says "west palm beach" so that does not matter much I believe you live in LW. Its very sad about this woman, she was NOT a prostitute or stripper she just seemed like perhaps a down on her luck older lady not ever hurting anyone or commiting any horrible crime, its not as if she was a stripper or hooker or drug dealer or burgler that spread diseases and caused crime, she was not scum like that and people can see that.

I know the area its not a ghetto but a little run-down and slummy but that does NOT matter, this could happen anywhere, I think it was a tragic accident, the driver had too much to drink, hit her and panicked and took off, he should of rose to the occasion and stayed and got her help, running from mistakes never help.

I pray she is at peace now out of pain and I hope the driver is caught and faces consequences, accident or not he is accountable. My prayers too her family and friends.

This is for all the negative comments about Margie. Don't judge her by a stupid police report. She was not a prostitute or buying and selling drugs. She suffered from MS and was on disability. Just because she was siting outside a store early in the morning doesn't mean she was up to no good. The stupid state was giving her a hard time with getting more medical help. She also suffered from manic depression. From her last medical record I have it shows some jerk doctor took her off a great medication that was working for her. She could have been out there cause she had a manic episode. I suggest before you make rude comments about someone getting killed you should think about how the family feels if they read this. Now that I read what UPDATE said it brakes my heart even more how people can be so cruel. If you really knew Margie you would know what a wonderful person she was.

Did they ever catch the person who killed this woman?

The 7-11 store is a good distance from Federal Highway. Either the person who did this must have dozed off/passed out behind the wheel or had a medical problem to go so far off the roadway and be going fast enough to crush a person enough to kill them.
