All this is well and good, and some right on. I'm just thankful a car with a innocent family wasn't in the other lane as they crossed over the road going 100mph while being chased. I thought Antioch had a policy against these kind of chases due to that very possibility. Yes, I'm glad they got caught, and yes, we can't be held hostage and let the crooks win, but can't there be a better way with the safety of all in mind? Including the police officer's who put their lives on the line protecting us. There has to be a better way, so let's put our energy into that and stop the race arguments folks.

The officer stopped the pursuit prior and radioed ahead to Lake Villa. The officer did exactly as he should have. To even question his actions or police policies at this point is completely unneccessary and unwarranted. The only questions any of us should have is why in the hell these guys were on the street. And where in the world did you see a race argument?

Hopefully you do not think criminals are like your dog. They don't fetch and "come here" when told to do so. Unfortunatelky, some level of pursuit is frequently necessary be it in a car or on foot. One needs only to look at the TV show "Cops" to get an idea of the real world police officers around the world are confrointed with. As noted elsewhere, the APD officer did shut down the pursuit when it was clear he was not going to catch them without creating a risk to public safety. He did as he should have done and there is no reason "to find a better way". He followed procedures. Sadly, there IS no better way unless you would just like to let the criminals run, and you clearly did not suggest that. Some day in the future, technology will solve this by allowing cars to shut down in such a situation. We are not there yet, and in the meantime, criminals have to be stopped in whatever manner minimizes risk to the public while still getting the job done. Opening some other dialogue on this is maeningless and a waste of time if in fact there was good judgement used by the APD. If you have evidence to the contrary, please provide it. Otherwise, please continue to thank our brave and hard working APD police force for risking their lives every day to protect the rest of us and for their good judjment with this pursuit.

Well, I'd like to think I earned it, but don't you think I might have been just trying to tell 2bit how your mind appears to work? 2bit was making a joke and you misinterpreted it and saw it as an opportunity to expouse your personal opinions in grandios fashion. That's all. No hidden meanings or agendas. Have a nice day and remember......in online forums people don't always see things your way. Many are even lacking basic debate skills, so .........lighten up a little.:)

WOW K rayne he was in the wrong place at the wrong time?? You have got to be kidding me!! Was he in the wrong place and time a couple of days before when these three same people robbed another gas station in Antioch?? And they found the evidence in the car from both. On another note I heard another one of them died and the last one is in a coma. Don't know if that's 100% true. Just what I heard. KARMA

Sorry about your bro, but he was a LOSER!!!
